MP1200 type melt index meterThere are two configurations to choose from, one is the manual version of MP1200, and the other is the electric version of MP1200M. The manual version MP1200 is equipped with all the necessary facilities (except for weights and laboratory scales) for mass melt flow rate (MFR) testing according to ASTM D1238 procedure A (manual switching). The test load needs to be manually placed. Users can upgrade the MP1200 melt index meter by adding optional accessories, such as ISO1133 tools and encoder based programmable piston displacement sensors (PPDT). This allows users to conduct tests according to ASTM D1239 B&C standards, or perform volume measurement tests (melt volume rate or MVR) and melt density calculations. Users can also choose Tinius Olsen's manual and automatic sample cutting tools, which can reduce operator intervention in the testing process and improve the accuracy and repeatability of test results.

MP1200 type melt index meterEquipped with an electric weight lifting device (WLD), it further enhances the automation of the equipment. During the testing process, the electric weight lifting device can safely and automatically place the test weight on the piston at the time interval set by the user. It can also be equipped with PPDT and a cutter, and according to the requirements of ASTM D1238 standard D, a solution flow ratio (FRR) accessory can be selected for testing polyethylene and achieving cleaning and cleaning functions.

Both devices are equipped with newly improved furnaces, which use three zone belt heaters and can provide temperature control (set temperature+/-0.1 ℃) throughout the entire testing area, in accordance with the new requirements of ISO1133-2 standard. The furnace also has a quick demolding design, making it easy to disassemble the mold for cleaning after testing.

The MP1200 melt index meter is equipped with a user-friendly color touchscreen LCD display. The operator can set the device's program and user settings options (such as language, units, alarms, etc.). Users can also set and store personalized testing protocols for quick access when needed. When programming the test, the operator can select the sample identifier to be used from the pre installed list or create their own identifier. Users can also choose the test results they wish to be reported on. The test results are automatically displayed at the end of the test and can be saved or printed out through a printer connected to the device's USB interface.

For more complex data collection, the MP1200 melt index analyzer can use Tinius Olsen's Horizon software. Horizon software can store test settings and test results, and call relevant data when needed. Operators can also create test reports and SPC control charts.
