Liquid sulfur, also known as dissolved sulfur, is a yellow brown liquid and is a basic industrial raw material widely used in modern industrial systems. At present, the Claus reaction process can achieve a sulfur content exceeding 99.5%, but there is still some residual H2S in liquid sulfur products. The presence of H2S in liquid sulfur is dangerous as it can slowly overflow from the sulfur during transportation and storage, producing an unpleasant odor. And H2S is a toxic gas that has adverse effects on workers and the environment, so it is necessary to monitor the residual level of H2S. H2S in liquid sulfur exists in equilibrium with elemental sulfur (S8) in two different ways: dissolved gas (H2S) and dissolved polymer (H2Sx). A heated FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) cell designed specifically for the determination of H2S/H2Sx in liquid sulfur, featuring a stainless steel cell body (120mm) for liquid measurement with an internal volume of 55ml. The unique internal shape of the FTIR cell (barrel design) can be used during sample discharge and cleaning processesallDrain liquid sulfur to avoid bubbles in the optical path. The sampling valve is equipped with a system to discharge liquid sulfur from the bottom of the pool to avoid overflow or blockage. The electronic pool temperature control and setting system can heat up to 180 ° C. The window is optimized for use in the mid infrared region. A simple and safe cleaning and filling system that can be performed outside the FTIR optical stage, equipped with an external bottom plate for safely filling and discharging liquid sulfur at a location far from the FTIR sample chamber. Equipped with electrical safety protection measures in case of overheating.
