Laibao Roots pump WAU501The series Roots vacuum pump is a technologically mature vacuum acquisition equipment widely used in various vacuum applications. Combined with the front stage pump to form a Roots unit, it has the following advantages:

Reduce the ultimate pressure

According to general experience, after configuring a Roots vacuum pump, the system's maximum pressure is reduced to 1/10 of its original value. The combination of two-stage Roots and corresponding front-end pumps can achieve a maximum pressure of 10-5 mbar (0.75 x 10-5 Torr), and in some cases, there is no need to equip a high vacuum pump (turbo molecular pump, or diffusion pump).


Increase pumping speed

Due to the non-contact rotation of the rotor, Roots vacuum pumps can operate at high speeds, and even pumps with small geometric dimensions can achieve very high pumping speeds. In the low to medium vacuum range, a single pump can achieve pumping speeds exceeding 1500m3/h (589 cfm), which can only be achieved by Roots vacuum pumps.

By selecting the appropriate combination of a front-end pump and a Roots pump, even a low-speed front-end pump can achieve the removal of a large amount of gas. Compared with a single front-end pump with the same pumping speed, the energy consumption is greatly reduced.

-The design of an integrated bypass pipe (pressure equalization pipeline) enables the utilization of Roots pump pumping speed in high-pressure sections, which can shorten the pumping time and is particularly suitable for periodic processes (see "Comparison of pumping speed curves with/without bypass")


-The precise dynamic balance of the rotor, combined with the forced lubrication of bearings and gears, allows the Roots pump to operate at high speeds, which can be changed by configuring a frequency converter. Increasing the rotational speed during the process to achieve high pumping speed, and reducing the rotational speed during process stoppage or intervals, can reduce energy consumption and extend the service life of Roots pumps without affecting reliability.

-The operation of converting vertical airflow to horizontal airflow can be easily performed at the pump installation site, which is very suitable for different requirements of system operating conditions.

Another characteristic of Roots pumps is that there is no oil in the pump chamber, which brings the following advantages to Roots pumps:

-The pumping medium is not contaminated by lubricating oil or sealant; No need for complex auxiliary accessories (exhaust filters, separators, etc.);

-The lubricating oil inside the gearbox is not affected by the pumped medium, and its service life will not be shortened as a result;

-Prevent oil and gas backflow from the front-end pump to the connected vacuum chamber

Laibao Roots pump WAU501There is no sealant or lubricant in the pump chamber. The gears and bearings of the RUVAC pump are located in two gear chambers, which have lubricating oil reservoirs. These two gear chambers are isolated from the pump chamber by piston ring sealing.

The oil supply system in these two gear chambers is designed reasonably, ensuring sufficient lubrication of the gears and bearings within all allowable speed ranges.

Almost all RUVAC Roots vacuum pumps can operate horizontally or vertically.


Laibao RUVAC WA/WAU

The WA/WAU series Roots vacuum pump is equipped with a direct flange mounted air-cooled standard three-phase motor. The RUVAC WA/WAU series pumps use radial oil seal rings to isolate the shaft from the atmosphere, and the material is FPM (FKM) (fluororubber).

The standard supply for the above series of pumps is vertical flow.
