In 1905, Jahns Regulatoren company was registered in Offenbach and became a factory specializing in the production of various power machinery regulators. Engineer Wilhelm Jahns (who built the first batch of controllers based on his expertise), businessman Carl Seidel, and several other unknown partners are the founders of the company. Since 1928, JahnsRegulatoren has been a family limited liability company owned by the Dapp/Sauerwein family. Starting from this period, the company produced axial piston pumps for presses and steering gears, as well as turbine governors. Production of low-speed radial piston engines began in 1970. These are used to drive heavy machinery, forging manipulators, rubber injection molding machines, and factory construction. At that time, in order to buffer the increasing wage costs, production shifted to NC machines. Nowadays, small-scale production is carried out on CNC machines.

The HMF radial piston engine has 7 sizes to choose from, with displacements ranging from 39 to 4300 cubic centimeters per revolution, for a total of 55 options. Continuous pressure of 250 bar, peak pressure up to 420 bar. Motors can be equipped with spline shafts, cylindrical or conical spline shafts, hollow spline shafts, valve blocks, and various speed measuring devices. The HMF series has replaced the HMA, HMB, and HMC series. The standard configuration includes 8 motors in 4 different sizes, with displacements ranging from 18 to 147cm3/rev. All motors can be equipped with key shafts or multi key hollow shafts, various speed measuring devices, hydraulic release multi disc brakes, and connecting plates for size 6 or size 10 directional control valves.
