Ion pretreatment column solid-phase extraction is used to remove sample impurities and ensure the accuracy of ion chromatography analysis. It is an important component in ion chromatography systems and can extend the service life of chromatography columns. There are various types of pre-treatment columns, such as reverse phase, ion exchange, and other types of fillers. Reverse phase pretreatment columns often use non-polar fillers such as C18 to separate non-polar substances. The ion exchange pretreatment column separates substances based on the properties of ion charge. The strong cation exchange pretreatment column can capture cationic impurities. The weak anion exchange pretreatment column has good retention of weak acidic anions

1. Made of polyethylene material and injection molding process, the manufacturing process does not use any adhesives or surfactants;

2. Smooth inner surface is not prone to biofilm growth; The cylindrical shape reduces the surface area inside the bucket, which in turn reduces contact with water;

3. The injection molding ion chromatography pretreatment column consists of PP filter element, high adsorption activated carbon, KDF filter element, and silicon phosphorus crystal, which effectively removes suspended solids, particles, rust and other impurities in the fluid. It adsorbs residual chlorine, small molecules, organic matter and other pollutants that cannot be removed in the pre filtration stage, and has a significant adsorption and removal effect on odors, colloids and pigments, heavy metal ions, COD and other pollutants in water.

C18 and RP columns

(1) Extract 5mL of chromatographically pure methanol using a disposable syringe and push it into a C18 or RP column at a flow rate of 2-4mL/min;

(2) Extract 10mL of secondary deionized water using a disposable syringe and push it into a C18 or RP column at a flow rate of 2-4mL/min;

(3) Allow C18 or RP columns to stand flat for 20 minutes to ensure their full activation;

(4) Extract the sample solution with a disposable syringe and push it into a C18 or RP column at a flow rate of 2-4mL/min. Discard the first 3mL;

(5) Collect the remaining liquid and combine it with a needle filter to directly enter ion chromatography for analysis, or transfer it to a sample bottle and perform injection analysis through an automatic sampler.

(6) In principle, C18 or RP pre-treatment columns are disposable, but in order to save costs, they can be activated and regenerated for reuse. The method of regeneration is to repeat steps (1) and (2) for regeneration. Generally, one RP column can be regenerated 5 times.

(1) Extract 10mL of deionized water with a disposable syringe and push it through the small column at a flow rate of 2-4mL/min;

(2) The small column is left to stand flat for 30 minutes to fully activate;

(3) Extract the sample solution with a disposable syringe, push it into the small column at a flow rate of 2-4mL/min, and discard the first 3mL;

(4) Collect the remaining liquid and combine it with a needle filter to directly enter ion chromatography for analysis, or transfer it to a sample bottle and perform injection analysis through an automatic sampler.
