1. Materials and Tools

  • main material: Customized insulation sleeve (selected according to equipment/pipeline size and temperature conditions, such as aluminum silicate, aerogel, fluororubber, etc.).

2. On site preparation

  • surface treatmentRemove oil stains, rust, and dust from the surface of pipelines/equipment, apply anti rust paint, and dry.

  • surveying and setting outAccurately measure outer diameter, length, flange/valve size, mark interfaces, brackets, and instrument positions.

  • Pre assemblyAfter the insulation cover arrives, pre assemble it according to the number and check the size and opening position.

Insulation sleeve supplier2、 Standard installation process

1. Installation of straight pipe section (most basic)

  1. Insert positioningInsert the insulation sleeve axially into the pipeline, align the interface, and ensure a tight fit.

  2. fixedFix with stainless steel zip ties using the "double tying method" (first 1.5 turns in the straight direction and then 1.5 turns in the reverse direction), with a spacing of ≤ 300mm for straight pipes and ≤ 50mm from the end.

  3. Seam treatmentVertical overlap 50-80mm, inner layer staggered seam ≥ 100mm; circumferential step overlap ≥ 100mm, filled with sealant and sealing tape.

  4. sealApply high-temperature adhesive (1.5-2mm) at the joint, apply a 50mm wide sealing tape on the outer layer, and press and exhaust.

2. Irregular parts (valves, flanges, elbows, tees)

  • Valve/flangeUse a split type insulation sleeve, leave a 20mm disassembly gap on the flange surface, and fill it with a water stop strip; The handle/actuator is exposed for easy operation.

  • elbowShrimp waist splicing, each section ≤ 45 °, overlap ≥ 150mm, tie spacing ≤ 150mm.

  • three-wayFirst small, then large. Open intersecting holes in the large pipe, seal with glue, and overlap with staggered seams.

  • At the bracketPlace a 3mm chloroprene rubber pad, disconnect and seal the insulation sleeve to avoid thermal bridging.

3. Installation of equipment (pump body, tank body)

  1. Install the segmented modules in sequence (motor cylinder, pump casing, flange cover), aligning the openings.

  2. Tighten the buckle/strap from the middle to both ends, ensuring no shaking or gaps.

  3. Fill irregular areas with sealing strips and seal the joints.

3、 Key Construction Specifications (Quality Control)

  • fixedThe spacing between zip ties/buckles is uniform, the fastening is moderate, and there is no pressure damage to the insulation layer.

  • Wrong seamDouble layer insulation must be staggered and cross joints are prohibited to reduce heat loss.

  • sealAll seams, openings, and flanges must be sealed to prevent heat leakage and water ingress.

  • reserveReasonable gaps should be reserved for inspection ports, expansion joints, and instrument interfaces to facilitate maintenance.

4、 Key points of acceptance

5、 Common Problems and Prevention

  • Loose and detachedThe fixed spacing is too large and the zip ties are not tightened. Strictly follow the spacing during construction and use the double tying method.

  • Heat leakage/condensationThe seams are not sealed and the staggered seams are not in place. Strengthen the sealing and ensure that the double-layer staggered seams are ≥ 100mm.
