The MiSeqDx instrument is the first FDA approved next-generation sequencing (NGS) system for in vitro diagnostics (IVD). Designed specifically for clinical laboratory environments, the MiSeqDx instrument offers a footprint of approximately 4 square feet (0.3 square meters), easy-to-use processes, and customized data output for the needs of clinical laboratories. In addition, the integrated software enables sample tracking, user traceability, and result interpretation. By utilizing Illumina's mature synthesis sequencing (SBS) technology, the MiSeqDx instrument provides accurate and reliable screening and diagnostic testing.

Prepare the starting DNA for MiSeqDx instrument sequencing using a simplified process that includes ready to use reagents that establish a highly efficient workflow with minimal manual operation time.
Simple NGS process
The MiSeqDx instrument provides an easy-to-use and automated process. The compact and integrated instrument integrates cluster generation, dual end fluid system, simultaneous synthesis and sequencing, and complete data analysis. The intuitive touch screen interface brings simple instrument operation. Plug and play reagents and RFID tracking increase safety and convenience. The MiSeqDx instrument does not require auxiliary hardware and computing resources, saving valuable laboratory space.
Enhanced user security
The MiSeqDx instrument is equipped with Illumina's User Manager Software, allowing the laboratory to control and track system access, ensuring that only authorized personnel can run tests.
Mature and widely published technologies
Illumina's SBS technology is a widely adopted NGS technology, with over 3300 peer-reviewed papers published. The MiSeqDx system utilizes the same reversible terminator SBS technology as all Illumina sequencing platforms.
User friendly and intuitive software
The MiSeqDx instrument is the first IVD NGS instrument to provide an integrated sequencing ecosystem. The instrument software is accessed through a user-friendly touch screen interface. Illumina Worklist Manager (IWM) software guides you in creating and setting up your sample sheet. MiSeq Operating Software (MOS) guides you in loading sequencing kits (providing pre loading reagents) and provides an overview of quality statistical data for monitoring the running process. During operation, MOS also controls the flow channel stage, fluid system, flow channel temperature, and captures images of clusters on the flow channel. Once preliminary analysis or base detection is completed, MiSeq Reporter (MSR) software analyzes the data and generates a result report.
intended use
Illumina MiSeqDx is a sequencing instrument that uses instrument specific reagents and flow tanks (MiSeqDx Universal Kit 1.0), imaging hardware, and data analysis software to determine the fluorescence signal of labeled nucleotides. The MiSeqDx platform is suitable for targeted sequencing of human genomic DNA from peripheral blood samples. The MiSeqDx platform is not suitable for whole genome or de novo sequencing. MiSeqDx is designed to be used in conjunction with Illumina's IVD analysis and assay kits.
