HTR-8/SVneo is an immortalized human trophoblast cell line, established by transfecting primary early pregnancy placental trophoblast cells with SV40 large T antigen. It combines the physiological functions of primary trophoblast cells with long-term in vitro culture characteristics, and is a core model for studying the mechanisms of pregnancy diseases and the biological functions of trophoblast cells

1. Function retention: It has the invasion and migration ability of primary nourishing cells, and can secrete pregnancy related factors such as human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), placental growth factor (PlGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), etc

2. Molecular markers: Positive expression of cytokeratin 7 (CK7), integrin α v β 3, and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-2/9); Negative expression of CD45 (a white blood cell marker) can serve as a basis for cell identification

3. Pathological responsiveness: Hypoxia (1% -5% O ₂) and inflammatory factors (TGF - β, TNF - α) can inhibit its invasive ability, simulating abnormal nourishing cell function in pathological states such as preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction

4. Carcinogenicity: No in vivo tumorigenicity, subcutaneous inoculation in nude mice does not form tumors, but has an invasive phenotype similar to tumor cells
