Pre processing procedure:
This method does not require pre-treatment. The consumables include a 2.5cm quartz tube, quartz wool, and pre-treatment column. Place the solid sample in the middle of the quartz tube, fix both ends with quartz wool, and then place the prepared sample tube into the heating chamber.

Part 4: Compliance with IEC62321-8 regulatory requirements

The four ortho benzenes controlled by Rohs2.0 belong to plasticizers and are difficult to volatilize substances, requiring high temperatures (200 ℃ -450 ℃) to volatilize. Currently, the IEC standard uses PY/TD-GC-MS (thermal cracking/desorption gas chromatography-mass spectrometry detector), while we use TP20-GCslightCracking desorption technology (thermal cracking/thermal desorption gas chromatography), specifically analyze what are the similarities and differences:
1. The PY/TD-GC-MS recognized by IEC is a thermal cracking+thermal desorption+gas chromatography+mass spectrometry detector. The thermal cracking temperature is high, up to 1200 degrees Celsius, and many large molecules are broken down into small molecules, which can interfere with the results and produce false positives. Therefore, MS mass spectrometry is required for characterization.
2. The TP60-GC rapid detection system for ortho benzene only requires quantification of several corresponding ortho benzenes. Therefore, we set the heating range to the range of 200 ℃ -450 ℃. This allows all four ortho benzenes to evaporate and enter the GC (gas chromatograph) for quantification, without causing cracking of other large molecular substances and affecting the results.
In summary, why does our method not have a mass spectrometer detector? Our positioning is to detect four types of ortho benzene, and the temperature range we use is only between 200 ℃ and 450 ℃, without interference from other newly cracked substances, so there is no need for qualitative detection. Therefore, TP60-GC does not require a mass spectrometer detector.
Conclusion: TP60-GC complies with the IEC62321 standard, and setting a more appropriate temperature range is more reasonable and scientific. Quantification using GC is also more suitable than GCMS
