Hamster Liver S9
1、 Research and Development Background
Genetic toxicity testing has been widely used in safety testing and evaluation in various fields such as food, drugs, cosmetics, and the environment. One of the more common genetic toxicity tests is the Ames test, which is a classic test for detecting chemical or drug mutagenicity. This method is mainly conducted in culture dishes and has the characteristics of simplicity, speed, accuracy, and sensitivity. It is widely used by countries around the world. 2) Chromosome aberration test: It is a basic method for detecting the influence of chemical substances on the number and structure of chromosomes. In the safety evaluation of chemical substances, in vitro CHL cell chromosome aberration and spermatogonial chromosome aberration tests are often selected to detect the effects of chemical substances on chromosomes.
In order to make the above experimental conditions closer to the metabolic situation of mammals, mammalian microsomal enzymes were added to the testing system to compensate for the lack of metabolic activation system in vitro experiments. Due to the fact that the liver is the site of metabolism and transformation of foreign compounds in the body, S9 is often prepared from liver homogenate. Currently, the commonly used method isRat liver S9orHamster liver S9.

2、 Product Description
Hamster Liver S9It is the mitochondrial supernatant of hamster liver parenchymal cell homogenate, which contains a large amount of CYPs and other drug metabolizing enzymes. It is a very useful research tool for studying the drug metabolism of compounds and investigating potential drug drug interactions. It is also an important reagent for mutagenicity testing (Ames) in food, cosmetics, chemicals, and other industries.
