【 Detection Principle 】
Group B Streptococcus Antigen GBS Ag Detection Reagent (Colloidal Gold Method)Using colloidal gold immunochromatography technology, the B group streptococcus antigen in the sample was qualitatively detected by the "double antibody sandwich method". The principle is to use specific antibodies to bind with Group B Streptococcus antigens, forming antigen antibody complexes. Then, through the labeling and color development of colloidal gold particles, the complexes show specific color changes on the detection card, thereby determining the presence of Group B Streptococcus antigens in the sample.
Sample type: usually includes biological samples suspected of containing Group B streptococcus, such as vaginal secretions, urine, blood, tissue fluid, etc.
Sample processing: After collecting the sample, appropriate processing should be carried out according to the instructions, such as dilution, centrifugation, etc., to ensure the applicability of the sample and the accuracy of the detection.
When using Group B Streptococcus antigen detection reagents (colloidal gold method), the following steps are usually required:
Prepare reagents and samples: Ensure that the reagents are within their expiration date and prepare and process the samples according to the instructions.
Sample addition: Drop an appropriate amount of processed sample into the sample addition area of the detection card.
Observation result: Observe the color change on the detection card within the specified time (such as 15 minutes). According to the judgment criteria in the instruction manual, determine whether there is Group B Streptococcus antigen in the sample.
【 Result judgment 】
Positive result: A red reaction line appears on both the detection line (T line) and the quality control line (C line) on the test card, indicating the presence of Group B Streptococcus antigen in the sample.
Negative result: Only one red reaction line appears at the quality control line (C line) position, indicating the absence of Group B Streptococcus antigen in the sample.
Invalid result: No red reaction line appears, or only one red reaction line appears at the detection line (T line) position, indicating test failure or reagent failure.

According to the hemolysis characteristics on the culture medium, it can be divided into three different types:
Alpha hemolytic streptococcus, also known as grass green streptococcus, has a grass green hemolytic ring around its colony and usually resides in the human oropharyngeal cavity, respiratory tract, and intestines, with weak pathogenicity.
Beta hemolytic streptococcus produces strong hemolytic toxins, which can cause a 2-4 millimeter wide, clearly defined, colorless and transparent hemolytic ring around the colony on blood culture medium. It has strong pathogenicity and can cause various diseases in humans. According to different antigen structures, it is divided into 20 groups such as A, B, C, D, etc. In each group, due to different surface antigens, it is further divided into several subgroups, and the vast majority of those that are pathogenic to humans belong to group A.
Streptococcus pneumoniae does not cause hemolysis and has no pathogenic effect on humans. Diseases caused by streptococcus have complex and diverse characteristics. On the one hand, due to the multiple types of bacteria, which are both invasive and toxic; On the other hand, all tissues and organs in the human body are highly susceptible and have response mechanisms involved in the onset of the disease. The invasive enzymes produced by Streptococcus include hyaluronidase, streptokinase, and hyaluronidase; The toxins produced include streptolysin and rash toxin. Reactive diseases such as rheumatic fever, acute glomerulonephritis, etc. can all be caused by Group A streptococcal infection. Streptococcus is another common bacterium of pyogenic cocci, widely present in nature, human and animal feces, and healthy human nasopharynx, most of which are non pathogenic.
