Description of Wika pressure gauge in Germany

The pressure shell of the Wika213.53 liquid filled Bourdon tube from Germany is made of stainless steel, and the liquid receiving part is made of copper alloy.

WIKA manufactures and certifies pressure gauges in accordance with the requirements of EN 837-1 and ASME B40.100 standards. To ensure safety performance, the instrument is equipped with an anti spray and pressure relief device. In the event of a malfunction, overvoltage can be dissipated and released from here.

Due to the liquid filling inside the case, the pressure elements and movements are effectively buffered. Therefore, these instruments are particularly suitable for measuring positions with high dynamic loads, such as frequent pressure fluctuations or vibrations.

The standard sizes for the case of the Wika213.53 liquid filled pressure gauge from Germany are 50 [2] ', 63 [2&2]', and 100 [4] ', and it meets the IP65 protection level. The accuracy of this pressure gauge can reach level 1.0 and can be widely used in industry.

Users can install this pressure gauge with axial installation process connectors to the control panel by using installation flanges or triangular brackets and mounting brackets.

What is a pressure gauge?

A pressure gauge is an instrument that measures and displays the pressure of a medium. Pressure gauges are pressure measuring instruments with elastic pressure elements, used up to millions of times in various industrial applications. According to the application area of the pressure gauge, Bourdon tubes, diaphragm elements, or bellows elements can be used as pressure elements.

What pressures can a pressure gauge measure?

A pressure gauge can measure gauge pressure, absolute pressure, and differential pressure. In addition, the Vicat pressure gauge can be used not only to measure positive gauge pressure, but also to measure negative gauge pressure.

Working principle of pressure gauge

The working mode of pressure gauges varies depending on the type. In industrial measurement technology, two different types of pressure gauges are used - Bourdon tube pressure gauges and diaphragm pressure gauges. These two types of pressure gauges have different functional principles and are therefore suitable for different applications. When using a Bourdon tube pressure gauge, the Bourdon tube directly transmits pressure to the pointer for measurement. There is a bend inside the shell, and the medium enters the bend and causes the Boden tube to extend. This extension is transmitted to the movement through connecting rods and sector gears, and displayed as corresponding deflection on the dial.

Bourdon tube pressure gauges can be used in various ways and are suitable for most applications. However, when they reach measurement, use a diaphragm pressure gauge. In a diaphragm pressure gauge, pressure is transmitted to a connecting rod through a waveform diaphragm. Afterwards, the dial movement will indicate the pressure value.

What material should a pressure gauge be made of?

Wika offers all commonly used watch case forms. For standard applications, plastic versions with copper alloy measurement systems are sufficient for neutral media such as compressed air, water, or oil. For hydraulic applications, we recommend using a sturdy and durable chrome alloy housing with glycerin filling to suppress the vibration of the measurement system and ensure good readability of the instrument. The pressure gauge model made of stainless steel is suitable for measuring pressure in corrosive, non viscous, and non crystalline substances, even in corrosive environments. The measurement system can also be coated with special materials such as PTFE, gold, Hastelloy, and many other materials. This can protect the instrument from the influence of corrosive media.

What does the accuracy level of a pressure gauge mean?

On the dial of the pressure gauge, we can always find the accuracy level indication. The accuracy level of a pressure gauge defines the allowable deviation of the displayed reading, expressed as a percentage of the full-scale value. For plastic shells, the value is 4% or 2.5%; For chromium steel or stainless steel instruments, the value is 1.6% or 1.0%. For testing instruments, the accuracy level is 0.6%, 0.25%, or even 0.1%, depending on the display range used. What does this mean in practice? The measurement range is 0 to 10 MPa, with an accuracy level of 1.0%, and the allowable deviation within the entire measurement range is 0.1 MPa.
