German Fischer Coating Thickness Gauge DMP10/Magnetic Induction Principle

German Fischer Coating Thickness Gauge DMP10/Magnetic Induction Principle

The DeltaScope DMP10 adopts a flexible magnetic induction method for measuring the thickness of contact and non-destructive coating layers. Perform non-destructive and high-precision measurements on the coating layer.

This instrument is durable and user-friendly, and can be paired with multiple probes to complete various measurement applications.

Measurement principle: Magnetic induction method, used to measure the thickness of non ferromagnetic metal coatings on iron or steel materials. For example: chromium, copper, zinc and other coatings, coatings, paints, enamel and plastic coatings.

The principle of magnetic induction is to measure the thickness of the coating by measuring the magnetic flux flowing into the iron substrate through a non ferromagnetic coating. The thicker the coating, the smaller the magnetic flux. Due to being an electronic instrument, it is easy to calibrate, can have multiple functions, expand the range, and improve quality. As the testing conditions can be reduced significantly, it has a wider range of applications than magnetic attraction.

Non magnetic probes generally use high-frequency and high permeability materials as coil cores, commonly made of platinum nickel alloys and other new materials. Compared with the principle of magnetic measurement, their electrical principles are basically the same. The main difference of the paint film instrument is that the measuring head is different, the frequency of the test current is different, and the signal size and scale relationship are different.

The principle thickness gauge can be applied to measure paint coatings, porcelain and enamel protective coatings, plastic and rubber coatings, non-ferrous metal electroplating coatings including nickel chromium, and anti-corrosion coatings in the chemical and petroleum industries on steel surfaces. For the production industry of photosensitive film, capacitor paper, plastic, polyester and other films, measuring platforms or rollers (made of steel) can also be used to achieve measurement of any point over a large area. The new DMP series includes contact and non-magnetic metal substrates for both magnetic and non-magnetic applications

The measurement of destructive coating thickness has set standards. The sturdy and modern design, optimized functionality, digital probes, and intuitive Tactile Suite software make these compact handheld instruments a companion that meets any measurement requirement
