GB/T 514 series thermometer basis《Glass liquid thermometer for petroleum product testingThe technical conditions (GB/T 514-2005) were formulated, and this standard was officially implemented on November 1, 2005, fully replacing the 1983 version of the standard. This revision adds 39 new technical specifications for thermometers, refines parameter requirements through a combination of lists and charts, and introduces 6 technical terms such as term definitions and capillary gap dimensions, forming a complete measurement system that is compatible with the JJG 130-2011 calibration regulations. The standard is referenced by 18 petrochemical testing method standards, forming the basic technical specification for temperature measurement in petroleum product testing.
High precision and refinement
The minimum division value is 0.02 ℃ (such as GB-41 benzene crystallization point thermometer), which meets the precise measurement requirements of parameters such as pour point and flash point of petroleum products.
The fully immersed thermometer avoids measurement deviation caused by insufficient immersion depth by specifying the immersion line design.
Material and process optimization
Using high borosilicate glass or quartz glass, it is resistant to high temperatures and corrosion, ensuring stable operation at temperatures.
The temperature sensitive foam and capillary tube are precisely drawn, and the uniformity of the liquid column is better than industry standards, reducing measurement errors.
Standardization and compatibility
Compliant with international standards such as GB/T514, ASTM, ISO, etc., supporting quality inspection in the import and export trade of petroleum products.
Establish a complete metrological system in accordance with JJG 130-2011 calibration regulations to ensure the traceability of measurement results.
Specialized model extension
Add mercury based thermometers (such as GB-36 cloud point and pour point 1) to cover detection scenarios such as cloud point, density, and distillation characteristics of petroleum products.
We provide specialized models such as low-temperature distillation (GB-46) and high viscosity measurement (GB-20) to meet diverse testing needs.
Performance testing of petroleum products
Flash point determinationEvaluate the flammability of petroleum products and guide safe storage and transportation through closed/open flash point thermometers (such as GB-1, GB-3).
Viscosity measurementA kinematic viscosity thermometer (such as GB-9) is used in conjunction with a capillary viscometer to measure the flowability of lubricating oil and fuel oil.
Analysis of condensation point and pour pointThe pour point thermometer (such as GB-30) is used to determine the fluidity of petroleum products at low temperatures and guide their use in cold regions.
Quality Control and R&D
In refineries and chemical laboratories, thermometers are used to monitor temperature parameters during the production process to ensure product quality meets standards.
The R&D department optimizes petroleum product formulations and processes through high-precision thermometers, such as GB-41 with a division value of 0.02 ℃.
Safety and environmental monitoring
Measure the volatility of petroleum products (such as vapor pressure thermometer GB-54) and evaluate their impact on the environment.
Detect the cloud point and pour point of fuel oil to prevent filter blockage or engine failure at low temperatures.
