The effect of temperature on lithium iron phosphate batteries is much smaller compared to lead-acid batteries, especially during discharge. Due to the electrochemical properties of lithium iron phosphate material, the low-temperature charging performance of this battery is slightly poor. The charging temperature requirement is higher than 0 ℃, otherwise the irreversible capacity of the battery will increase with the decrease of temperature. Lithium iron phosphate batteries can still cycle well in environments around 55 ℃.
2. The influence of intermittent float charging on lithium iron phosphate batteries
Due to the fact that the electrolyte of lithium iron phosphate batteries is an organic liquid and lithium metal is highly reactive, the battery must be sealed. Under normal charging and discharging conditions, the battery produces almost no gas, and even if the battery is in an intermittent float charging state for a long time, it will not generate high pressure inside the battery. In addition, the backup power supply of the communication base station is in a floating charging state for a long time, and for intermittent floating charging of the battery, its voltage is around 3.65 V for a long time. This voltage is relatively stable for both the battery plates and electrolyte, so lithium iron phosphate batteries are very suitable for use in communication base stations.
