1、 Application of WZ-2 expansion meter:
The WZ-2 expansion meter is used to measure the volume expansion of cohesive soil during immersion and the moisture content after stable expansion.
Developed based on GBJ123-88 geotechnical testing methods and JTJ051-93 highway geotechnical testing regulations. This instrument is used to measure the no-load expansion of undisturbed soil and compacted soil samples, as a reference for evaluating the expansion potential energy of clayey soil. It can meet the needs of both geotechnical experiments and highway tests.
2、 Main technical parameters of WZ-2 expansion meter:
1. Soil cutting ring knife: Φ 61.8mm x 20mm
2. Horizontal adjustment: Bottom adjustment screw
3. Guide ring: prevent expansion
4. Dial gauge: 0mm-10mm (not included in order)
5. Instrument weight: 2.5Kg
3、 Instructions for using WZ-2 expansion meter:
Use a soil cutting ring knife to cut the sample, level both sides (if conducting a moisture content test, the soil sample and ring knife should be weighed immediately with a balance), place the cutting edge on the permeable stone, then place the guide ring on the ring knife, gently tighten and flatten it with three guide ring screws, and then cover the glass piston head on the surface of the soil sample, so that the end point of the dial gauge needle contacts the piston head. Then inject clean water or natural water into the container, keeping the water surface level with the soil sample surface regularly, or according to geotechnical operating procedures, keeping the water surface higher than the soil sample. Regularly record the reading of the dial gauge until it does not expand.
4、 Maintenance of WZ-2 expansion meter:
After use, the instrument should be wiped clean and coated with a thin layer of grease to prevent rusting.
