Coating anti chloride ion permeability test device
The coating anti chloride ion permeability test device is made in accordance with the relevant requirements of the JTJ275-2000 Technical Specification for Corrosion Protection of Concrete Structures in Harbor Engineering.
The coating anti chloride ion permeability test device is made of organic glass with a diameter of 50 millimeters, with two water inlets and a rubber ring in the middle to ensure no water leakage. The device is fixed with three stainless steel screws, and the left and right parts are 110 millimeters long each.
The importance of measuring the chloride ion penetration of anti-corrosion coatings in emerging marine engineering. A specific experimental method for determining chloride ion content was introduced.
Preparation of Test Plate for Coating Resistance to Chloride Ion Penetration Test Device:
The production of the coating sheet for the experiment uses 150mm × 150mm coating fineness paper as the reinforcing material, which is laid flat on the glass plate. The matching coating for the experiment is applied with primer, intermediate coat, and topcoat according to the requirements of the plate production. After each coating is applied, the fine paper should be immediately lifted off the glass plate and hung on a rope, and the next coating should be applied after 24 hours. Produce a total of 4 coating sheets using this method. After production, hang it indoors for natural curing for 28 days (depending on the dryness of the coating).
Test method for resistance to chloride ion permeability:
A 50mm diameter organic glass testing device and thickness gauge are required. During the test, a coating fineness paper is laid flat on the glass plate. The coating used for the test is first brushed with a bottom layer, then two middle layers, and finally one surface layer. After each coating is applied, the fineness paper should be immediately lifted off the glass plate and hung on a rope. After one day, the next layer should be applied repeatedly. The total thickness of the coating is controlled to 250-300 microns using a wet film gauge. Three movable coating sheets are made according to this method and hung indoors for natural curing for 28 days. The thickness of the coating sheets is measured using a magnetic thickness gauge for testing purposes. The obtained movable coating sheets are cut into pieces with a diameter of 60mm. Test piece for resistance to chloride ion penetration, with the painted side facing 3% saline solution and the other side of the fine paper facing distilled water, Three sets of devices were shared and tested at room temperature. After one month or 30 days, the chloride ion content of distilled water was measured.
The test results of the coating's resistance to chloride ion penetration test device show that:
Calculate the permeation of chloride ions using the following formula:
Where:
S - chloride ion permeation rate, mg/(cm2·d);
C sample -3% NaCl solution infiltrated into distilled water with chloride ion concentration, mg/L;
C blank test - chloride ion concentration in distilled water, mg/L;
V - volume of distilled water, mL;
D - Diameter of the contact surface between the paint film and NaCl solution or water, mm;
D - Test days.
