Instrument Introduction
EMP Gold+is a highly sensitive, portable mercury measuring instrument designed for on-site measurement of total gaseous mercury (TGM), with a detection limit of less than 2pg and a quantification limit of 7mg.
The measurement concepts of EMP-3 and EMP-Gold+are the same, using the same CVAAS (cold atomic absorption detector) built into EMP-3.
EMP Gold+has been equipped with a gold amalgam pre enrichment and purification device. Using the principle of mercury homogenization between gold and mercury, further enrichment and purification of mercury analytes are carried out to achieve the determination of trace gaseous samples.

All operational functions are managed by the EMP-3 touch screen, and the user sets the required sampling time.
When the sample gas is drawn into EMP Gold+, total gaseous mercury (TGM) is captured on the mercury collection tube for gold amalgam, while only mercury is captured and concentrated on the tube. Heating the mercury collection tube releases the purified mercury vapor into the CVAAS detector in EMP-3 for measurement.
The entire process (including the amalgam device and detector) is powered by batteries.
