Product Details

In modern scientific laboratories, accurate and rapid analysis of elemental composition in samples is the foundation of many research and quality control works. As a professional analytical instrument, an elemental analyzer can provide an important means for quantitative and qualitative analysis of one or more elements in solid, liquid, or gas samples. It is widely used in many fields such as environmental monitoring, materials science, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and food safety.
The EMA 502 elemental analyzer mainly utilizes some basic principles in chemical analysis, such as combustion, catalysis, or chromatography, combined with modern spectroscopic techniques to determine the type and content of elements in the sample. According to different analysis requirements and sample characteristics, element analyzers can be divided into various types such as carbon hydrogen nitrogen sulfur analyzers, oxygen element analyzers, X-ray fluorescence spectrometers, etc.
Carbon hydrogen nitrogen sulfur analyzers typically use combustion methods to burn samples in a high-temperature and oxygen stream, converting organic matter into simple inorganic substances such as carbon dioxide, water, and sulfur dioxide. Then, each component is separated by a chromatographic column and quantitatively analyzed using a thermal conductivity detector or infrared detector. This technology is particularly suitable for the analysis of environmental samples, petroleum products, and polymer materials.
Oxygen element analyzers often use catalytic or high-temperature melting methods to convert oxygen elements in the sample into carbon dioxide through the action of catalysts, or decompose the sample under high temperature conditions to further analyze the produced carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide, thereby determining the oxygen content in the sample. This method is commonly used for the analysis of inorganic substances such as metal oxides and ceramic materials.
The X-ray fluorescence spectrometer uses the secondary X-rays (i.e. fluorescence) emitted by the sample under X-ray irradiation to non destructively determine the types and contents of elements in the sample by measuring the wavelength and intensity of these fluorescence. This method is very suitable for rapid analysis of various solid samples, such as rocks, minerals, alloys, etc.
The EMA 502 elemental analyzer requires attention to sample preparation and processing during operation to ensure accuracy and reproducibility of analysis. For solid samples, crushing and mixing may be necessary to ensure their representativeness; For liquid or gas samples, it is necessary to ensure their purity and stability. Meanwhile, the calibration and maintenance of instruments are also crucial, and regular standardization and calibration can ensure the accuracy of data.
Working Principle:
EMA 502-CHNS process diagram.
CHNS analysis first places the sample in a VELP combustion furnace and burns it at a temperature above 1000 ℃ to obtain elemental compounds.
VELP Vcopper ™ It is a formula of highly active copper powder placed at the bottom of the reaction tube to help reduce NOX to N2.
The airflow then reaches the gas chromatography column oven to ensure uniform and modular temperature resulting in the separation of all elements, ultimately detected by TCD.
When analyzing the O element, the sample undergoes pyrolysis in the furnace and then passes through a chemical adsorption device where all impurities are absorbed, and then reaches the gas chromatography column and TCD for detection.
Utilizing EMASoft ™ Usability and data security of software implementation:
EMASoft ™ Software is a VELP solution for functionality *, used for control and operation.
EMASoft ™ Featuring a user-friendly interface that displays all relevant information at a glance: results, database, and instrument operating conditions.
Custom methods can be selected and created from pre installed method libraries. A simple calibration curve is created for all elements, allowing testing of any sample matrix without the influence of memory.
You can start analyzing with just a few clicks.
A few steps can be taken to change the configuration, using GIF animation tutorial.
Benefiting from real-time charts displaying gases detected by TCD.
When the consumables of the reaction tube are depleted, a dedicated maintenance menu will sound an alarm.
The results table shows the mean, SD, and RSD directly selected for analysis on the chart.
The EMA 502 software can be upgraded through the optional 21 CFR Part 11 software package, suitable for laboratories in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food industries that require compliance with FDA regulations.
By providing support through the VELP Ermes cloud platform, we aim to achieve scalability and improve workflow
The EMA 502 features connectivity options for the VELP Ermes IoT cloud platform, an intelligent laboratory solution that allows for reduced routine operations as your analysis can be monitored in real-time anytime, anywhere.
You can manage multiple instruments, consumables, workflows, analyze data, and instrument working conditions using only a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Instant event and alarm notifications can inform the analysis situation, and the interruption of remote analysis ensures control over laboratory processes.
Only allow specific personnel within the organization to access instruments and data, and decide whether you are willing to directly share information with VELP or service centers to benefit from reduced diagnostic time and enhanced service support, thereby achieving system uptime.
Through VELP's Ermes cloud platform, CHNS-O's experimental experience has reached a new level.
