DissolvIt inhalation formulation dissolution moduleDissolvIt simulates the dissolution and absorption of aerosol particles in the lungs under In Vitro conditions. DissolvIt provides the possibility of sorting test substances and comparing the pharmacokinetic (PK) curves of candidate inhaled formulations with the original product, which is a true breakthrough in in vitro and in vivo correlation (IVIVC) and has brand advantages.

DissolvIt needs to be used in conjunction with the PreciseFlame aerosol generator, as shown in the figure below. Each module and host are produced by Inhalation Sciences Sweden AB (ISAB), an innovative instrument listed company headquartered in Sweden that provides analytical instruments and research services. Its products are mainly used for aerosol and inhalation formulation research.

In the DissolvIt module of Zhuanli, the PreciseHell aerosol generator evenly deposits micronized dry powder, inhaled formulations, nano aerosol particles, etc. on a glass slide, and then allows the particles to come into contact with simulated mucus for dissolution experiments. DissolvIt is equipped with an inverted microscope, which can observe and record the dissolution process of particles in real time through a glass slide window; On the other hand, simulating the flow of perfusion fluid in blood vessels, a precisely controlled peristaltic pump adopts a unidirectional continuous flow mode to allow the blood simulation fluid to flow through the dissolution pool, and the fraction collector continuously collects samples, which are then analyzed by LC-MS. The entire system precisely controls the temperature at 37 ℃.

•Combined with the PreciseInhale aerosol generator, an artificial blood air barrier is formed to simulate the dissolution and absorption of aerosol particles in the lungs under in vitro (In Vitro) conditions.

•PreciseInhale uniformly deposits particles on the test surface, while DissolvIt simulates the physiological characteristics of the lungs more in dissolution experiments.

•Only a small amount of sample/very small test surface (50 ng – 1 µ g/cm2) is needed, making it easier to control particle particle interference during dissolution experiments.

•Generating pharmacokinetic (PK) curves for inhalation formulations yields:

-Absorption curve, including Cmax and Tmax

-Normalized PK curve

-Staying curve

•Ranking and identifying candidate drugs, and comparing generic drug formulations with original research.

•Simulated the configuration of a microscope to visualize the dissolution process.
