GB 20265:2019 standard requires that degradation grade shoes should be tested with at least two chemicals for degradation.

After the sole degradation test, tear force testing before and after degradation is required.

Leather, coated fabrics, or textiles need to undergo "tear strength, tear strength, and elongation at break" tests before and after degradation.

The upper sample should be composed of circular discs with a diameter of 120mm, taken from the shoe or from the material designed for making the shoe. The lining should be removed. The minimum thickness for removing the bottom material should be 1.8mm.
