3、 Working principle
When the electric energy meter is working, the voltage and current are sampled separately by the sampling circuit, and then multiplied by a dedicated integrated circuit for electric energy processing before being sent to the CPU for processing. Finally, the CPU sends the processed data to output devices such as the display and communication parts as needed.
The information system is managed by a computer, and through an IC card reader/writer, a certain amount of electricity and monitoring requirements are written into the IC card input table of the microprocessor system. After being processed by the CPU, it provides display, alarm, and cut-off status signals.
The working principle of the instrument is shown in Figure 1.

Appendix 1 Prepaid Function Description
1、 Normal use
Electric energy meters with prepayment function use IC cards for purchasing and managing electricity. And there are multiple functional cards such as preset card, power purchase card, power check card, reset card, etc. for setting, purchasing, checking, and resetting operations.
New meter installation: When using a meter that has been reset to zero and is functioning properly, the preset card should be used to preset parameters such as load control, main time period, sub time period, meter reading date, and wheel display items.
Clock calibration: It is necessary to use a meter reader for broadcasting time synchronization.
Account opening form: Use the upper computer software "Electricity Sales Management System" to open an account and pay the advance payment for this electricity purchase. Insert the generated user card into the new table, completing the account opening and pairing of one table and one card.
User electricity purchase: The management system settles the actual electricity bills receivable by the user based on the total, peak, average, and valley electricity consumption returned by the user card. And pay the advance payment for this electricity purchase. New load control, sub time periods, meter reading days, public holidays and other parameters are also written into the power purchase card and transmitted to the electricity meter.
For the convenience of real-time operation, this table can also be programmed with a handheld computer or infrared remote control for parameter settings. The content of parameter programming is related to multiple rate parameters. The pre paid part of the setting parameters must be transmitted and set by the preset card and the power purchase card.
2、 Check function
A power card can check one meter. Using a power card can facilitate the electricity management department to check the parameter data of any meter. Important data such as electricity consumption, purchased electricity, remaining electricity, etc. can be written back to the power card. The data content written back by the power card can be read out by the electricity sales management system.
3、 Management function
3.1Load control settings
According to the user type and power supply season, policies for controlling the user's electricity load can be formulated, and different load management can be carried out for peak, off peak, off peak, and off peak periods to achieve the management goal of "peak shaving and valley filling". When running, open the electricity meter and save the data stored in the already opened meter2If the PROM display board is unplugged and replaced with a new meter, the new meter can replace the original meter and all data will be the same as the fault meter. (The nameplate of the electric meter also needs to be replaced with a new one)
(2) When the allowed load and remaining power exceed the pre-set values, and the available power of the meter is zero, the meter will output an alarm or trip signal.
Attention: When both alarm and trip are selected, trip takes priority over alarm.
(3) When the remaining power of the meter is 0 and the external power supply circuit cannot be disconnected due to emergency credit or other reasons, the meter will start calculating the overdrawn power and automatically deduct the overdrawn power when the next power card is inserted.
5、 Instructions for various functional cards
5.1Set card
The setting card is a setting card created by the electricity sales system after the installation of the electricity meter, which sets the basic parameters of the electricity meter in this system. Only the electricity meter that has been set up can be used to open an account and purchase electricity.
5.2Pre installed card
The new watch can be installed directly after leaving the factory. After using the "preset card" to preset the specified "preset power" and multi rate extended data, it can be powered on for use. And transition from factory state to installation state. The preset power consumption is treated as an internal "credit limit" in the electricity meter, which can be automatically deducted when inserting the purchase card. Note: It can also be pre-set by the manufacturer.
Pre installed cards can be used interchangeably to set up meters of the same specifications and can be reused. Used and managed by watch installation personnel.
The installed electricity meter needs to be paired with one meter and one card before accepting the electricity purchase account opening card.
The power of the preset card is written into the electricity sales management system, and the power can be written from 0 to 100 yuan.
Without a pre account electricity meter, multiple pre-set cards can be accepted, with the last pre-set data being valid.
Note: The preset card can also be used for testing and typing tests on the electricity meter. After the test is completed, use the reset card to reset it to zero.
5.3Purchase electricity card
Users bring their purchase cards to the electricity sales department to purchase electricity, and the department uses the electricity sales management system to manage the usage
The amount of electricity purchased by the household is written into the electricity purchase card. The power purchase card adopts a one meter one card method, and the power purchase cards listed by each user are not interchangeable with each other. The power sales management system saves the original records stored by users.
If the hoarding limit is set to the maximum value of 9999 yuan, the maximum amount of electricity purchased by the user at a time is 9999 yuan. When the sum of the purchased electricity and the remaining electricity in the meter is greater than the storage limit, the meter displays "009999.00", and the purchased electricity in the card will not be written into the meter. When the sum of the remaining electricity and the purchased electricity is less than the storage limit, the purchased electricity card will be inserted again, and the purchased electricity will be read in.
After inserting the power purchase card into the meter, wait for the meter to confirm that the user number and password are correct, and then write the purchased electricity into the meter. The power purchase card has the function of writing back the operation data of the electricity meter, such as the current electricity level, remaining amount, meter status, and the electricity level of the previous three months, which are written back to the power purchase card and read out through the electricity sales management system for easy management.
The system can also transmit parameters such as public holiday data, primary and secondary time periods, and load control methods during electricity sales according to actual needs. This function can be selected and set in the electricity sales management system software.
5.4Check the power card
A power card can check one meter. Using a power card can facilitate the electricity management department to check the parameter data of any meter. Important data in the meter, such as energy, purchase amount, remaining amount, etc., can be written back to the power card. The data content written back by the power card can be read out by the electricity sales management system.
Inserting the power card again before the first check shows that it has not ended can detect whether the relay can trip normally.
5.5Clear card
After inspection and testing, the electricity meter can be reset to zero (can be used multiple times) to restore its factory state and put back into use.
Conditions for using the reset card:
(1) Press the programming key to enter programming mode.
(2) Within 2 minutes of the electricity meter being powered on.
5.6Meter reading card
Electric card usage: Used for copying meter data during the manufacturing process and user usage. a
The meter reading card can read up to 100 meters of data. When the number of meter readings exceeds 100, the last collected data will overwrite the data in the 100th meter.
Note: The meter reading card only returns internal data for the prepaid portion.
If you want to collect historical records and other data of multiple rates, you should use a meter reader to collect them.
5.7test card
Usage of electric card: Used for rapid inspection and evaluation of electric meter performance testing, re inspection, and process aging procedures during manufacturing processes and acceptance inspections.
Appendix 2 Explanation of User Precautions
1. One table, one card:
The IC card held by the user cannot be exchanged. In case of loss, a replacement card should be purchased from the power supply department (sales office).
2. Preparation for purchasing electricity:
Before purchasing electricity, users must insert their IC card into the electricity meter once to facilitate the return of data from the meter to the computer database.
3. When purchasing electricity, please declare the amount of electricity to be purchased and the alarm reminder amount.
4. Electricity card usage: Insert the power purchase card into the electricity meter. If it is a valid power purchase card, the electricity meter will automatically read the data into the meter. The LCD display screen will show the total purchased electricity, remaining electricity, overdrawn electricity, purchased electricity, and the number of times the electricity meter has been used. Please store the unplugged card properly.
5. Operation display: During the operation of the electricity meter, it alternately displays the total average electricity, peak and valley electricity, remaining electricity, and operation period in the meter.
6. Overcapacity alarm: During the operation of the electricity meter, if the "alarm" LED indicator flashes rapidly, it warns the user that the electricity has been exceeded. If the meter is set to the over capacity power-off limit mode, after 30 seconds of over capacity power consumption, it will be tripped for 3 minutes and the countdown display (180 seconds) will show the time to restore power supply; The user's card insertion response can immediately restore power supply.
7. Accumulation limit: If the purchased electricity+remaining electricity>accumulation limit (e.g. 9999kWh), the purchased electricity will not be read in, and the display will show a "NNNNNN" prompt, indicating that the electricity in the card is still valid.
8. Warning reminder: When the remaining battery level in the meter is less than twice the "alarm battery level", the "alarm" LED indicator will flash (with an interval of 1 second) to remind the user to purchase electricity. At this time, if the user responds by inserting a card, the "alarm indicator" will flash at an interval of 2 seconds to avoid power outage warnings.
9. Power outage warning: If the user does not respond by inserting the card during the warning reminder, when the remaining power is the alarm power agreed upon by the user (or 10% of the purchased power), the electricity meter will be tripped and a power outage warning will be issued. At this time, inserting the IC card into the electricity meter once will restore power supply. If the IC card of this meter cannot be found after pulling the switch, you can borrow a neighbor's IC card to insert it and restore power supply.
10. Power purchase reminder: When the remaining power in the meter is less than the "alarm power", the "alarm" LED indicator will remain on as a constant reminder.
11. Fault declaration: When the remaining power is displayed as zero or negative, the "alarm" LED indicates. If the meter continues to operate (except for emergency credit), the user should immediately purchase electricity and proactively report the situation to the power supply department.
12. Emergency credit can be granted during non working hours, weekends, and public holidays. When the battery level is zero and the business outlet cannot purchase electricity without going to work, a power purchase card can be inserted to activate emergency credit. Emergency credit for electricity cannot exceed the 'credit limit'.
13. When emergency credit is due, the electricity load is limited, and users should purchase electricity as soon as possible to avoid affecting their daily lives.
