Several methods for underwater sealing by divers: Due to the pipeline being in operation, the upstream water pressure is too high after sealing, so the main pipeline must be sealed by diving to avoid the head being broken by water flow and causing danger to the lives of construction personnel. Generally, sealing is carried out every 3-4 well positions.

Rubber airbag assisted sealing: Due to the presence of many branch outlets in the pipeline, rubber airbags are used to assist in sealing the submerged sealing section (in the construction pipeline section), which facilitates smooth construction and also helps to prevent unsafe drainage caused by elevation differences in some well locations, affecting the normal progress of dredging.

Underwater pipe plug sealing method: Pipe plug sealing method is commonly used in small pipelines. Generally, pipe plugs include rubber plugs (thick rubber rings are embedded between two iron plates, and the iron plates are tightened with bolts to expand the rubber rings and generate friction with the pipe wall to stabilize the pipe plug), and wooden pipe plugs (wrapped with hemp cloth or other materials and inserted into the pipe mouth and tightened). In addition, clay with low permeability can also be bagged and then stuffed into trenches and pipes for sealing.

Underwater brick masonry sealing method: using cement mortar or cement clay mixed with bonding materials to build brick walls to seal large and medium-sized pipelines is a commonly used method. It has the advantages of easy material retrieval and good sealing effect, but the disadvantage is that it is difficult to dismantle. There are generally two types of sealing: waterless sealing and water-based sealing. Anhydrous sealing: It is a sealing process carried out in an anhydrous state.

Underwater brick wall sealing scheme for sewage pipeline sealing measures: Due to the differences between underwater wall building and upper wall building, the placement of each brick requires careful and rigorous operation by divers. The gaps between bricks should be filled with cement in place. Most pipelines are still affected by water flow, and when the pipeline is blocked to a certain position, a diversion pipe needs to be installed, which requires the diving company to prepare the diversion pipe in advance.

Submersible sealing of sewage pipelines is achieved through the installation of airbags by divers and the construction of underwater brick walls by divers. In terms of material costs, the price of airbags is much higher, and the cost of underwater brick construction will be even greater.

Airbag underwater sealing: Without water flow, there is no incoming water in the upstream of the pipeline, and the water level does not change after sealing. Airbag sealing can be used due to its construction characteristics, fast speed, and easy removal after sealing. It is recommended to use temporary sealing within 5 hours.

Steel plate underwater sealing: It can be used when the water flow in the pipeline is fast. Steel plate sealing can be installed underwater. Steel plate sealing needs to be customized with steel plate modules according to the actual situation under the well chamber. The reliability of steel plate sealing is the same as that of wall sealing, and it also needs to be dismantled by frogmen underwater. After steel plate sealing, there will be a small amount of water leakage.

Underwater wall sealing: There is incoming water upstream of the pipeline, and the water level will continue to rise after sealing. The service life of pipeline sealing is relatively long, and underwater wall sealing can be used. The construction characteristics are that the construction period is longer than that of airbag sealing, requiring a 12 hour solidification period. Demolition requires frogmen to break it underwater. The advantage of sealing is high reliability, which ensures the safety of underground personnel operations and is the preferred long-term sealing method.
