Specially designed for electrofusion of mammalian embryonic blastomeres, it can be used in electrolytes or non electrolytes. A properly directed short electrical pulse applied to early embryos can dissolve the cell membrane, thereby completing the fusion of cytoplasm and nucleus. The main application of this instrument is to generate tetraploid mouse embryos and somatic cell nuclear transfer clones. Standard twin cell division stage embryos can rapidly integrate into single cells (tetraploid embryos in the single-cell division stage).
