1. Insulation resistance tester for rough measurement of cables
After the initial judgment, determine the method for determining the coarse side of the cable and roughly determine the range of the cable fault point. For different types of faults, impedance ranging method or traveling wave ranging method can be selected.
Impedance method often uses bridge method, which is suitable for low impedance faults and has a limited application range. The traveling wave ranging method includes pulse current method, pulse voltage method, low-voltage pulse method, secondary pulse method, multiple pulse method, etc., which can avoid the influence of fault nature and are widely used. High voltage flashover method is used to detect high resistance faults, while low voltage pulse method is used to detect low resistance faults.
2. Accurate positioning of cable fault tester
Use the path meter in the cable fault tester, connect the positive and negative poles of the test line, turn on the power, switch impedance matching to make the output amplitude indication obvious, connect the output jack of the fixed-point meter to the probe, and adjust it to the "path" position to make the headphones have clear signal sound. Use a probe to conduct detection, keeping the probe perpendicular to the ground and eliminating interference. Search on the predetermined cable path and use audio induction or pulse magnetic field direction method to narrow down the fault point search range. In the tunnel, stop and listen every four steps to confirm the sound of *, and use a pointing device to speed up the search. Outside the tunnel, a fixed-point instrument is needed for measurement. The louder the sound emitted by the fixed-point instrument, the closer it is to the fault point.
3. Precautions
Maintain daily repair tools and equipment. Before dealing with cable faults, sufficient preparation should be made, and a dedicated person should be used to carry out the preparation work, familiarize oneself with the nature and model of the cable fault in advance, and arrive quickly through a fast way and path. When dealing with high-voltage cable faults, apply pressure to one phase and connect the other phases to the cable steel armor. When dealing with low-voltage cable faults, apply pressure to one phase and ground the other phases. Perform fault location simultaneously from both ends of the cable and keep a record of the fault handling work.
