HY-BSC Bacher trough (also known as Bacher trough) is an auxiliary equipment used for measuring open channel flow. In the process of liquid flow, the waterway that flows in a non full pipe state is called an open channel. The application of open channel flow meters includes urban water supply diversion channels, cooling water diversion and drainage channels for thermal power plants, sewage treatment inflow and discharge channels, industrial and mining enterprise wastewater discharge, as well as water conservancy engineering and agricultural irrigation channels. Our company's HY-BSC series is commonly used in conjunction with ultrasonic open channel flow meters for measuring weir slots (Bacher slots) of common specifications.

1、 Material type: fiberglass PVC、 stainless steel. The larger the flow rate, the corresponding increase in wall thickness.

2、 Selection precautions:
1. The size of the Bacher groove is related to the installation of the channel, please determine according to the on-site situation.
2. The centerline of the Bacher trough should coincide with the centerline of the channel to prevent water flow from deviating into the Bacher trough.
After the Bacher trough is filled with water, the flow state of the water should be free flowing. The submergence degree of the Bacher trough should be less than the specified critical submergence degree.
4. There should be a straight section upstream of the Bacher trough that is greater than 5 times the width of the channel, so that the water flow can enter the Bacher trough smoothly. There is no lateral deviation or the impact force formed by the slope of the channel. (See the figure below)
5. The Bacher groove should be securely installed on the channel. The connection with the side walls and bottom of the channel should be tight and not leak water. Make all the water flow through the measuring part of the Bacher trough. The measuring part of the Bacher trough is the throat section inside the trough.

4、 Installation steps:

In most cases, the measuring slot of ultrasonic open channel flowmeter is selected as the Bacher slot, and its installation is divided into the following steps:

1. Preparation for civil engineering and installation of open channels
Before installation, first check the terrain. The inlet must be higher than the outlet to ensure a water level difference and smooth outlet. This is the key to successfully installing the Bacher trough open channel flowmeter.

2. Put the Bacher trough into the open channel

Requirement: (1) There is a water level difference at the downstream discharge outlet of the Bacher trough, and the discharge is smooth. If the water level difference is not enough, the Bacher trough should be raised to increase the water level difference.

(2) Ensure that there is a distance of 1-3 meters between the straight section in front of the Bacher trough.

3. Strengthen the Bacher groove

Pour concrete around the Bacher trough to ensure that all water flows through it. During reinforcement, the Bacher groove should be kept horizontal on both sides to prevent tilting and deformation.

4. Several situations during installation

5. Special precautions
It is necessary to ensure that there is a water level difference downstream of the Bacher trough, the discharge is smooth, and there is no water accumulation. This is the key issue for installation.

6. Instrument wiring
After the installation of the Bacher trough, it is necessary to wait for the concrete to solidify before proceeding with instrument installation and debugging. Generally, installation and debugging should be carried out by instrument technicians. If the signal transmission cable of the split is far away, users can extend it themselves.
The distance is generally within 2000 meters, otherwise a field connection test should be conducted.
