Structural characteristics of transformer cooling fan

The transformer cooling fan is a second-generation low-noise, integral axial flow fan designed specifically for outdoor transformer coolers. It has a compact structure, high reliability, and is easy to install and maintain.

1. Overall structural form

Adopting a motor impeller direct connection structure, without couplings or transmission belts, it has high transmission efficiency and low failure rate.

The whole machine consists of four main parts: electric motor, impeller, air duct (guide duct), and mounting flange/bracket.

The overall structure is front blowing (Q represents front blowing), with wind drawn in from the motor side and blown towards the transformer radiator.

2. Characteristics of motor structure

Fully enclosed self fan cooled three-phase asynchronous motor, protection level IP55, rainproof, dustproof, and anti condensation.

Insulation class F, suitable for long-term continuous operation, high temperature resistance and aging resistance.

6-pole motor with a speed of 960r/min, low speed, minimal vibration, and low noise.

The motor shaft extension end adopts double ball bearings with oil filling cups, which can be refilled online and extend the service life.

The machine base is made of high-strength cast iron or steel plate welded, with good rigidity and stable operation.

3. Characteristics of impeller structure

The impeller diameter is 900mm, usually consisting of 4 blades.

The blade material is mostly aluminum alloy die-casting or high-quality steel plate stamping, with high strength and light weight.

Adopting low-noise wing shaped blades, the airflow is smooth, the wind pressure is high, and the noise is low.

The impeller has undergone precise dynamic balance correction, running smoothly without generating additional vibration.

The motor shaft is connected by a key or locked with a cone sleeve, which is reliable and not easy to loosen.

4. Wind duct (air guide duct) structure

A cylindrical integral shaped air duct that collects, guides, and stabilizes air flow, increasing air volume and pressure.

The inner wall of the air duct is smooth, reducing eddy currents and wind resistance, further reducing noise.

The air duct is welded or bolted together with the flange, which has good structural rigidity and is not easily deformed.

5. Installation and support structure

The bottom is equipped with standard installation flanges/support feet, which can be directly fixed on the transformer cooler.

The installation holes are universal and can directly replace old models such as BF-9Q6 and DBF-9Q6.

The overall center of gravity is reasonable, and the vibration during operation is small, which will not be transmitted to the transformer body.

6. Sealing and protective structure

The motor end cover, outlet box, and other areas are sealed with rubber sealing rings to prevent water and moisture.

The sealing structure of the bearing chamber is reliable, preventing dust and rainwater from entering and adapting to harsh outdoor environments.

The surface of the whole machine has been treated with anti-corrosion paint, which is resistant to sunlight, rain, and slight corrosion.
