Moreover, DC ASP exhibits outstanding hydrophobic properties due to the presence of organic silicon compounds. Compared with the sealing property of traditional asphalt pavement and asphalt lotion, it has extremely low viscosity and low surface tension, which can make ASP easily penetrate the tight pores in the asphalt road, thus making it a part of the road, rather than just as a protection on the road surface

ASP compensates for the loss of aromatic compounds during the solidification process of asphalt roads, as well as due to oxidation reactions and UV radiation.

The active organic silicon compounds in ASP reduce the loss and oxidation of aromatic compounds in asphalt pavement. Therefore, the service life of asphalt pavement has been improved.

ASP improves the adhesion and cohesion between asphalt road components, especially between aggregates, thereby reducing separation and detachment, as well as spontaneous emulsification caused by the presence of moisture.

ASP seals small voids on the surface, reducing the porosity of asphalt roads.
