Research Solution for MSC Mesenchymal Stem Cells(Application of MSC mesenchymal stem cell gene therapy CGT)
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a type of adult stem cell with multipotent differentiation potential, isolated from bone marrow by Friedenstein in 1968. MSCs exist in various tissues, with common sources including bone marrow, adipose tissue, umbilical cord and placenta, dental pulp, and synovium. MSCs can not only self renew, but also differentiate into various cell types, including osteoblasts, chondrocytes, adipocytes, muscle cells, and nerve cells. Due to its differentiation ability, immune regulatory properties, and low immunogenicity, MSCs have broad application prospects in regenerative medicine, anti-inflammatory, anti fibrotic, and other fields.

MSC therapy and its main application areas:
As of November 2024, more than 1300 clinical trials of mesenchymal stem cells have been retrieved from ClinicalTrials.gov website, showing the therapeutic potential of * in the fields of osteoarthritis, stroke, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, heart failure and other diseases. Most studies use MSCs derived from fat or bone marrow. Nearly 75% of clinical studies use MSCs as regenerative medicine products, approximately 14% use MSCs for disease modeling, and the remaining 11% use MSCs for drug discovery and cytotoxicity testing applications.
As of June 2024, 95 stem cell drugs from 52 domestic stem cell pharmaceutical companies have entered CDE and obtained implied clinical trial licenses. On January 2, 2025, the first stem cell therapy drug in China, Amimatosa Injection, was conditionally approved for market through the priority review and approval process. Its indication is for the treatment of acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) mainly involving gastrointestinal tract involvement in patients over 14 years old who have failed hormone therapy. The acceleration of research and development has enhanced the expectations of the stem cell market prospects, and also indicates that stem cell therapy will become an important development direction in the medical and health field in the future.
