The anti flattening test clamp for the oral and buccal parts is a key fixture component used in YY/T 0977-2023 "Anesthesia and Respiratory Equipment Oral and Pharyngeal Airway" standard to evaluate the ability of the oral and pharyngeal airway to resist deformation under pressure, ensuring that it can maintain airway patency in clinical use.

According to Appendix B (Normative) of the standard, the design and operational requirements for this test clamp are as follows:

Geometric parameters of clamp head:

The angle is (60 ± 2) °, used to simulate the compression angle of oral tissue on the airway;

The chamfer radius of the working surface is (1.0 ± 0.5) mm (some data mention 10 ± 0.5mm, which should be based on the original standard text), to prevent abnormal deformation caused by stress concentration;

The width of the clamp should be greater than the width of the buccal portion of the pharyngeal airway being tested, ensuring full contact and even application of force.

Loading force requirement:

Apply a force of (100 ± 10) N to the oropharyngeal airway with a specification of 5.5 or below;

For oropharyngeal airways with a specification of 6 or above, apply a force of (200 ± 20) N;

The applied force needs to be maintained for 3 minutes, simulating a continuous compression state.

State adjustment:

Before the test, the oropharyngeal airway was placed in an environment of (34 ± 2) ℃ for 1 hour to simulate human oral temperature conditions to ensure stable material performance.

Measurement and evaluation:

During the loading process, use a measuring tool with an accuracy of ± 0.10mm to determine the minimum internal dimensions of the buccal portion;

After uninstallation, observe its recovery condition and ensure that it can quickly restore its original shape without permanent deformation;

The final result must meet the minimum inner diameter limit requirements of the corresponding specifications in Table 1 of the standard.
