The flat fixture in Appendix H of YY/T 0489-2023 is a key component used to test the fixation strength of disposable sterile drainage catheters. Its design and dimensions must comply with standard requirements to ensure the accuracy and repeatability of test results.

According to the standard regulations, the flat fixture is made of rigid materials with smooth surfaces, and its specific structural features are as follows:

Plate hole diameterIt should be 0.33 mm (1 Fr) larger than the outer diameter of the drainage catheter being tested to ensure that the catheter can pass smoothly and there is appropriate clearance;

Curvature radius of hole edgeThe edge curvature radius of all hole attachments is 2 mm ± 0.1 mm to prevent additional damage to the conduit;

plate thickness16 mm ± 0.5 mm, ensuring sufficient structural rigidity;

Overall design of fixturesIt needs to be used in conjunction with a tensile tester to ensure that the fixture does not shift or deform during the application of tension.

During testing, the drainage catheter is inserted through the flat fixture hole until its non balloon fixation device is activated and contacts the fixture surface. Subsequently Apply tension at a speed of 100 mm/min, record the peak tension (in Newtons N) and failure location, and evaluate the ability of the fixing device to prevent accidental displacement.
