This instrument is used to determine the aniline point of petroleum products. It involves placing a specified volume of aniline and a sample in a U-shaped tube, mixing them mechanically, and continuously heating and stirring until the two phases are completely mixed. Then, the mixture is gradually cooled, and when the two phases separate, the temperature recorded is the aniline point.
