2、 What are the main functions of a fume hood
Heat resistance and acid alkali corrosion resistance: Some fume hoods require the installation of electric furnaces, while others produce large amounts of toxic and harmful gases such as acid and alkali, which are highly corrosive. The countertop of the fume hood, all wood fume hood, lining board, side board, and selected water and air nozzles should all have anti-corrosion function. In the semiconductor industry or corrosive experiments where strong acids such as sulfuric acid are used, the overall material of the fume hood must be acid and alkali resistant, and must be made of stainless steel or PVC material.
The most important function of a fume hood is its exhaust function. In a chemical laboratory, various harmful gases, moisture, flammable, explosive, and corrosive substances are generated during experimental operations. In order to protect the safety of users and prevent pollutants from spreading to the laboratory, fume hoods should be used near pollution sources. In the past, the number of fume hoods used was relatively small, and they were only used in experiments with particularly harmful and dangerous gases and large amounts of heat.
