This device can be used independently in low-voltage pulse mode; In pulse current mode, it needs to be used in conjunction with a high-voltage signal generator; In the multiple pulse mode, it is also necessary to cooperate with the cable testing multiple pulse coupler; After the distance measurement is completed, a digital multifunctional cable fault locator must be used for positioning. They jointly form a high-performance cable fault finding system that can provide multiple innovative features.

The instrument consists of four parts: system host, multiple pulse generator, fault locator, and cable routing instrument. It is used for testing various faults in power cables, searching for cable paths and burial depths, and daily maintenance and management of cable archives.

The advantage of the multi pulse method is that it greatly simplifies the fault waveform measured on site, transforming the complex high-voltage impulse flashover waveform into a very easy to read short-circuit fault waveform similar to the low-voltage pulse method. By reducing the technical and experience requirements for operators, the accuracy of on-site fault diagnosis has been greatly improved. Anyone can conveniently and accurately read waveforms, calibrate fault distances, and achieve the goal of quickly and accurately testing cable faults, greatly improving the success rate of fault testing, which cannot be compared to traditional cable instruments.
