Inspection principle:

Tryptone and soy peptone provide nitrogen sources, vitamins, and growth factors; Glucose provides a carbon source; Potassium dihydrogen phosphate as a buffering agent; Higher levels of sodium chloride provide higher osmotic pressure and inhibit most non staphylococcal microorganisms; Sodium pyruvate promotes bacterial growth.
