05103-L Wind Speed and Direction Sensor

05103-L wind speed and direction sensor is lightweight, sturdy and durable, and can measure wind speed and direction in harsh environments. 05103 is made of durable UV stable thermoplastic, stainless steel, and anodized aluminum materials. Heat resistant plastics can resist the erosion of marine air environment and atmospheric pollution. Precision grade stainless steel ball bearings are used for propeller bearings and vertical bearings.

05103 Measure wind speed with a propeller. The rotation of the propeller produces an AC sine wave with a frequency proportional to the wind speed. The AC signal induced in the sensor coil is generated by a six pole magnet installed on the drive shaft. The coil is fixed in the middle of the non rotatable main installation component, eliminating the need for slip rings and brushes.

A body shaped sensor connected to an internal potentiometer is used to sense wind direction. The data collector transmits the known precise excitation voltage to the potentiometer element. The output analog voltage signal is proportional to the azimuth angle.
