Unimotive GL is another milestone in Huber's development of environmentally friendly refrigeration technology. Using CO2 as the refrigerant, the heating and cooling system operates in a climate friendly manner. Carbon dioxide (refrigerant code R744) is a natural component in the air and has proven its strength in refrigeration technology since the 19th century. Carbon dioxide is a colorless gas that liquefies under certain pressure. It has no ozone depletion potential (ODP=0) and a negligible global warming potential (GWP=1). As a natural refrigerant, CO2 is abundant in nature, which means it does not need to be produced under high energy consumption conditions. In addition, CO2 has other advantages, such as non flammability, non toxicity, and no chemical activity.
