The E32U interface compatible with all Marposs probes for hard wired applications processes signals received from the probes and directly transmits them to the machine tool CNC.
The E32U interface unit converts the signals generated by the contact probe so that the machine tool CNC can process these signals.
There is a terminal block for I/O connection and three LED lights on the front board of the unit, which indicate when to connect the unit to the power supply and the status of the probes and interfaces.
LED lights provide the following information:
Green LED light: indicates the power status of the probe
Yellow LED light: flashes when touched
Red LED light: indicates interface fault status
The 5 switches on the top of the unit make it easy to set the system operation mode.
Single interface for all probe types
Automatically identify the type of connecting probe
Quick and easy installation and setup
E32UAmplifier electrical module, signal access module Marposs meterworking principle
This system can recognize spatial point information through the CNC system. The detection of these points is achieved through the multi-directional high-precision micro switch in the contact probe, and then the signal is sent to the E32U interface through the cable, which adapts the signal to the CNC system for processing. This system is easy to use and can be used in extremely harsh industrial production environments.
Can be done:
Workpiece measurement: (probe A)
-Find the position before processing
-Determine the material cutting amount before processing
-Measurement after processing
Tool measurement: (probe B)
-After changing the tool or before processing, the tool should be aligned
-Check tool wear
-Check the integrity of the cutting tool.

Figure 2-1. E32UAmplifier electrical module, signal access module Marposs meterExample of system configuration.
The system is capable of measuring in the ± x/± y/+z direction.
The measuring needle contacts the measured surface to generate a signal, which is used to save the position information of the contact point while stopping the machine tool movement. The measurement performance of the probe can only be guaranteed when the measurement speed remains constant.
The selected measurement speed must be able to stop the machine axis within the overtravel range of the measuring head.
Before using the measuring head, it is necessary to perform calibration steps to determine the system measurement error of this "system" (measuring head, machine tool, and CNC system). The characteristic of systematic error is its anisotropy and repeatability in various measurement directions, therefore, calibration steps must be performed in each measurement direction (excluding TL25P/T25P probes, which can be calibrated in a single direction and then applicable to all directions).
To calibrate the system, measure the calibration point of the known value (R) on the machine tool and calculate the difference (R+K1) between the known value and the measured value. Save the difference (K1) as a correction parameter in the CNC system, and when a measurement action occurs in that direction, the correction value will be automatically called for compensation.

The E32U interface converts the signals generated by the probe into signals that can be recognized by the CNC system of the machine tool. The front end of this interface is a 12 terminal block (D), which is used to connect the probe end and the CNC machine end. The terminal block provides three LED indicator lights, which respectively represent:
Green LED (A): When the light is on (ON), it means "power on".
Yellow LED (B): Indicates the status of the probe:
When the light is on and the measuring needle deviates;
When it is off and the measuring head is not deviated.
Red LED (C): When the light is on (ON), it indicates an error status.
The five switches (E) at the top of the interface are used to set up the system (see Chapter 5 "Setting up the System").

All output terminals provide short-circuit and overload protection functions.
There is a protective circuit inside the power supply to prevent damage caused by excessive current and polarity reversal.

The E32U interface should be installed in the electrical cabinet of the CNC system
Install this interface module on the DIN rail and press it to secure the buckle in place.
Connect the grounding cable (see Chapter 4.1.1 "Grounding Connection").
