The image cameras KUSTA1.7MSI, KUSTA1.9MSI, KUSTA2.2MSI, and KUSTA2.2MSIsens (KUSTAx. xMSI) are highly suitable for recycling applications. The undistorted optical lens ensures high spectral and spatial resolution (up to 320 adjacent measurement tracks can be measured) for measuring material flow. Due to its high frame rate, the camera can analyze and identify small particles at conveyor belt speeds of up to 3 meters per second. High spatial resolution can detect non-uniformity in complex material mixtures. These camera systems are widely used in the fields of plastic, waste paper, and construction waste recycling.
Installation settings:
The reflection of the detected object is captured by the optical lens of the camera and projected onto the InGaAs sensor array. On the line detection area, each image point (up to 320/up to 192) recorded a complete near-infrared spectrum. By performing linear scanning on objects, spatial resolution analysis of material composition can be performed. High spatial resolution can identify small components in the material flow. This camera is used in combination with PMAmsi lighting unit, installation bridge, RGB color camera, and industrial PC with control and analysis software.
Key features:
2D spectrometer for high-resolution distortion free near-infrared images
Camera equipped with a cooled InGaAs sensor array
Up to 795 Hz frame rate - achieved through specially designed electronic devices
Comprehensive settings and service tools
Industrial grade PC, including Windows ® 7 Embedded (or higher version) operating systems
Contains analysis routines for standard classification applications in recycling

Recycling application:
LLA devices are widely used in various application fields. By selecting different recognition routines in the device software, sorting tasks can be easily changed. There are several ready to use applications available for recycling.
Identification of household waste (idHwaste): PET, PE, PP, PS, PVC, PA, PE bottles, PE film, paper, cardboard, wood, liquid packaging board (TETRA), textiles, PET bottles with PE, PP or PVC labels, HD-PE, LD-PE, PET and PET-G (Figure 2)
Identification of idPaper: Office paper, magazines, newspapers, catalogs, cardboard, folding boxes, TETRA liquid packaging boards, PET, PE, PP, PS, and PVC (Figure 2)
Identification of Electronic Waste/Electronic Waste (idEwaste): ABS、PS、PA、PBT、PC、PE、PP、PET、PVC、PMMA、PUR、POM、PC+ABS、PPE+SB、PVC+ABS、ABS+TBBPA、ABS+TBBPAep、PS+TBBPA、PS+TBBPEep、 Paper, cardboard, and wood (Figure 2) (Figure 3)
Identification of PET fragments (idPET Flakes): PET, PE, PP, PS, PA, PC, PVC, PMMA, PET+PVC, and silicone

Identification of sorted building materials (idCM) in C&D (construction and demolition waste): gypsum, concrete/lightweight concrete, sandstone bricks, aerated concrete, bricks, and impurity materials (wood, paper/cardboard, plastic) (Figure 3)
Identification of Impurity Materials (idDebris) in C&D (Construction and Demolition Waste): Plastic, Wood, Paper, Cardboard, Gypsum, and Airy Concrete in Mixed Waste
Analysis and control software:
The KUSTAx.xMSI camera comes with a comprehensive set of software. The control software KustaMSI (Figure 4) allows for adjusting camera parameters and monitoring camera status. In addition to camera control options, KustaMSI also implements several standardized interfaces for transmitting data to external process control devices. Important equipment parameters are password protected and can only be changed by maintenance personnel. In addition, application routines can be modified to simplify the adaptation of hyperspectral near-infrared cameras to different sorting tasks.
LLA provides chemometric software for application development and real-time visualization of material flow
