Toshiba VFAS3-4150PC-F frequency converter VF-AS3 has a safety torque cutoff (STO) function as a standard configuration, which can reliably shut off the output in emergency situations.

This safety torque shutdown function can safely switch mechanical equipment to a torque free state to prevent accidental start-up.

This function meets the requirements of the safety standard IEC61800-5-2, and the safety integrity level has reached the SIL3 safety level specified in the standard IEC61508:2010.

VF-AS3 has four built-in PID controllers: two for frequency converters (motors) and the other two for other devices, including heaters and valves. This built-in PID controller can meet the needs of multiple applications simultaneously. Due to the fact that this design does not require an external PID controller, it helps to reduce costs and minimize the required space.

The functions of this PID controller include temperature or pressure control of fans and water pumps, speed control of winding machines, and control of stop positions.

The "MyFunction" has added programming capability for the input/output signals of the frequency converter, which does not require the use of any external relays or programmable logic controllers (PLCs). This feature can effectively reduce the space and cost required by the system.

The relay sequence function allows the frequency converter to automatically run 52 steps (4 steps * 7 units+24 steps) without a programmable logic controller. Due to its ability to directly use internal data and signals, this feature has a faster processing speed than control devices with programmable logic controllers.

VF-AS3 has multi-level rated power and can be used to drive different applications with overload characteristics of overload (150% -60 seconds overload capacity) and normal load (120% -60 seconds overload capacity). This frequency converter is suitable for both heavy-duty and light-duty applications.

When the output frequency is greater than or equal to 0.3 Hz, the starting torque of sensorless vector control can reach 200%. VF-AS3 can achieve high starting torque and high-precision regenerative torque under low frequency conditions.
