Zhangjiakou opens up intelligent transmission channels for renewable energy and builds a smart grid

Our city is located at the throat of the national West East Power Transmission and North South Power Transmission, and is a major 500 kV transmission channel. With the rapid development of the renewable energy industry, the installed capacity of wind power, photovoltaic and other renewable energy development and utilization in the city has been increasing year by year, ranking among the top in prefecture level cities in China. At the same time, the capacity of the Beijing Tianjin Tangshan power grid to absorb renewable energy electricity is gradually saturating, and the issue of power transmission has become a new bottleneck for the development of the renewable energy industry. In order to open up new energy transmission channels, State Grid Zhangjiakou Power Supply Company has focused on the current development status of new energy in the region and promoted the construction of the 500 kV "three stations and four lines" project. In April 2015, seven 220 kV and 110 kV substation projects were completed and put into operation, adding 1.55 million kilowatts of wind power transmission capacity to the Zhangjiakou area. The Zhangjiakou power grid has entered the era of "county power grid 220 kV dual power supply".

Our city regards the construction of intelligent transmission channels as one of the "four major projects" for the construction of renewable energy demonstration zones, and plans to build a number of intelligent transmission demonstration projects, construct smart grids, and develop the direction of renewable energy grid integration. In May 2016, the State Grid Jibei Electric Power Co., Ltd. released the Development of Zhangjiakou Innovation Demonstration Zone for Energy Internet in our city, which designated our city as "Zhangjiakou Innovation Demonstration Zone for Energy Internet". It is planned that during the "13th Five Year Plan" period, the State Grid Jibei Electric Power Co., Ltd. will invest 23 billion yuan to explore a scientific path for the construction of energy Internet from the scale, technological innovation, economic applicability and other aspects through new "projects", so as to make the demonstration zone from planning to reality. On December 27, 2017, a new energy power station with virtual synchronous machine function was built and put into operation at the National Wind and Solar Storage and Transmission Demonstration Power Station in our city, actively supporting the frequency and voltage fluctuations of the power grid and effectively ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power grid.

The footsteps of the 2022 Winter Olympics are getting closer and closer. According to the "Development Plan for Renewable Energy Demonstration Zone in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province", the demonstration zone will build a low-carbon Olympic zone in Chongli District, and the main energy consumption in the zone will basically come from renewable energy. To ensure high-quality renewable energy power supply requirements for the Winter Olympics, our city has predicted the structure and brief load of the Chongli power supply network, completed the planning of the main network and distribution network for the Chongli Winter Olympics zone, and planned the construction of the "1+2+4+N" Winter Olympics zone power supply network, forming an intelligent renewable energy power output channel.
