With the advancement of technology, the research and production of colorimeters are constantly improving, especially domestic colorimeters. Color detection has become a concern for every manufacturer in industrial production nowadays.

The development trend of color difference instruments includes the following aspects:

intelligentization

With the rapid development of technology and the use of new materials, color difference instruments combined with microprocessors and computer testing software can achieve more reliable and functional color detection and analysis functions. At the same time, the calculation speed, sensing sensitivity, and analysis comprehensiveness have all been improved, making the color difference instrument more user-friendly and intelligent.

Accurate high-speed

Due to the performance improvement of micro processing and sensors, embedding more algorithms in color detection can achieve faster and more accurate color detection in more products and environments. The innovation of materials and the development of technology enable the use of higher precision light sources and sensors, and the speed and accuracy of measurements will inevitably improve.

Stability of measurement

Most of the colorimeters currently designed and developed in China use photodiodes as sensors. With the advancement of semiconductor technology and coating technology, domestic colorimeters may gradually incorporate semiconductor, coating processes, and algorithms to ensure measurement accuracy and stability.

Portable appearance

Large colorimeters are very cumbersome and inconvenient to measure and transport. Small size, comprehensive functions, high accuracy, good stability, and the ability to measure color differences in various products are widely sought after color detection instrument standards by manufacturers in the future.

Realize the conversion of multiple color spaces

The color detection standards implemented in different chromaticity spaces have different environments for use and measurement. In order to achieve more color measurements, future colorimeters may realize the mutual conversion of CIERGB, CIEXYZ, CIELAB, CIELCH, and hunterLAB, providing users with more testing parameter choices. The CIEXYZ and CIELAB color spaces are shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2, respectively.

PC computer expands the functionality of the colorimeter

This feature may be a must-have for all instruments in the future, and the use of color difference instruments on computers in the era of informatization and technology will inevitably become a trend.
