The first National College Student Material Analysis Competition "Fermat Instrument Dinghong Cup" has come to a successful conclusion

From August 7th to 9th, 2025, the first National College Student Material Analysis Competition (also known as the third track of the 14th National College Student Metallographic Skills Competition), guided by the Teaching Guidance Committee for Materials Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education and organized by Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology, and jointly sponsored by Suzhou Fermat Instrument Automation Technology Co., Ltd. and Dinghong Instrument Technology (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., came to a successful conclusion in Nanchang, Jiangxi.

The core concept of this competition is "promoting learning, teaching, and innovation through competition", attracting more than 1000 students from 133 universities across the country, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Beijing Institute of Technology, to advance to the finals. After three days of intense competition, the competition has awarded multiple honors including first prize, second prize, third prize, Fermat Scientific Instrument Dinghong Cup Special Award, and Excellence Award, showcasing the strength of contemporary Chinese materials science talents.

Recognized platform

As one of the 84 important competitions recognized and included in the "National Undergraduate Subject Competition Ranking List" by the Ministry of Education, the competition covers the entire process of material analysis and technical application, including computer-based exams, self selected topic defense, expert questioning, literature analysis, and question answering, comprehensively examining students' theoretical foundations and practical innovation abilities.
