The tablet press has a history of nearly a hundred years, and it first appeared in Europe and America. However, in China, the British style 33 stamping press was only imitated in 1949. In 1951, the domestically produced 18 stamping press was the earliest pharmaceutical machinery manufactured domestically, based on the American 16 stamping press.
Afterwards, they independently designed and manufactured the ZP25-4 tablet press, 60-30 tablet press, ZP33 and ZP19 tablet press, which not only press tablets and sugar tablets, but also calcium tablets and coffee tablets.
In the 1970s, Shanghai * Pharmaceutical Machinery Factory and Shandong Medical Equipment Factory were designated manufacturers to mass produce ZP series tablet presses. In 1980, Shanghai * Pharmaceutical Machinery Factory designed and manufactured the ZP-21W tablet press, which reached the advanced level of the early 1980s and was a domestic * product.
Entering the 21st century, with the deepening of GMP certification, ZP series rotary tablet presses have also produced products that comply with GMP.
With the continuous improvement of manufacturing and processing technology, various special needs of manufacturers using tablet presses have emerged, resulting in the production of various tablet presses with special purposes. For example, the ZP5 rotary tablet press used in the laboratory, the dry powder rotary tablet press used for dry powder compression, and the explosion-proof ZPYG51 series rotary tablet press used for * tablets.
Compared to foreign tablet press technology, the domestic technology content is relatively low and there is insufficient technological innovation. There is serious duplication of product development and rampant plagiarism, with dozens of manufacturers of a certain type of tablet press. Moreover, the sealing of the input and output of tablet presses abroad is very good, minimizing cross contamination as much as possible. The particles used for tablet pressing are fed into the hopper through a sealed material bucket and a sealed conveying system. Effective measures are taken to prevent dust from flying and particle stratification during the tablet pressing process. The pressed tablets are then screened, checked in the tablet, and metal detected before entering the packaging process, and the entire process is quite sealed.
The current development direction of tablet press technology abroad is towards intelligence, flexibility, precision, and compliance with GMP requirements, with the high-tech content of products constantly increasing. The design and manufacturing level of domestic tablet presses have made significant progress in recent years. The development of domestic tablet presses still has a long way to go and requires our continuous efforts.
