KBr tablet pressing technology is the most commonly used method for processing solid samples for infrared analysis. Firstly, the sample is ground into fine particles and then uniformly mixed with dried KBr powder. After Zui, place this sample in the KBr tablet mold and use the 13mm mold of the hydraulic tablet press to obtain a KBr tablet. You can also use other cheaper and faster methods to obtain tablets.

Solid particles can be ground into small powders for compression, and cleaned with alcohol before grinding. The ratio of the tested object to KBr is 1-2:100. If the absorption peak exceeds the interface, add some KBr. If the absorption peak is not obvious, some analyte can be added.
Infrared oven
Place the ground solid particles in a drying oven and bake for about 30 minutes (depending on the dryness of the object) to evaporate the moisture inside. Pay attention to high temperature when removing.
Vacuum extractable brominated KBr mold
KBr molds are capable of producing high-quality and transparent tablets with a diameter of 13mm. The compression is formed between highly polished punches in the vacuum chamber. This mold has a precise structure, produces stable tablet quality, has a long service life, and can serve your laboratory for a long time. Before using the mold, wipe off any residue on the punch and inside the mold with alcohol, dry it, and then add the powder. After removing the KBr sheet, clean the mold with alcohol. Due to the sharpness of the mold punch, be careful not to scratch it during cleaning

Place the KBr mold into the tablet press workbench and maintain the pressure between 8-10 tons for about 2 minutes before removing it.
