instrumentb2bInstallation and use of glass rotor flowmeter

The cone tube of the glass rotor flowmeter is a high borosilicate glass transparent material that can measure the instantaneous flow rate of single-phase non pulsating fluids (liquids or gases) in pipelines. It is divided into two categories: basic type and anti-corrosion type, and is widely used in chemical, petroleum, light industry, medical, food and metrology testing, scientific research and other departments.
Glass rotor flowmeter has strong universality, simple structure, and easy maintenance. Segmented measurement, flexible measurement range, and the ability to measure small flow rates. The base material is diverse and can measure corrosive media. DN10 caliber and below are equipped with regulating valves, making it convenient for users to manually adjust on site. The installation and use of glass rotor flow meters require attention to detail, with the following requirements during installation and use:
1. Newly installed pipelines should be flushed clean first.
Before using and installing the glass rotor flowmeter, the technical parameters such as measurement range, degree level, rated working pressure, temperature, etc. should be checked to ensure that they meet the requirements for use.
Before installation, the top lining material that serves as transportation protection in the flowmeter should be removed. And check whether the cone tube is damaged and whether the float can move freely up and down. Only after confirming that it is normal can it be installed.
4. Vertically installed on a vibration free pipeline, the angle between the centerline of the rotor flowmeter and the plumb line should not exceed 5 degrees. Large caliber flow meters, due to their weight, may require reinforcement and support measures if necessary to avoid pipeline bending.
During installation, it is necessary to avoid excessive external force damage to the rotor flowmeter and open the valve slowly.
6. If necessary, install a filter upstream of the rotor flowmeter according to different operating conditions to prevent impurities from entering the measuring tube and causing blockage of the float.
If the fluid is unstable and has pulsating flow, a buffer can be installed to ensure good measurement of the rotor flowmeter and eliminate pulsating flow.
When using a glass rotor flowmeter, the control valve on the upstream pipeline of the flowmeter should be slowly opened first, and then the flow rate should be adjusted with a regulating valve to avoid sudden opening causing the float to rise rapidly and damage the cone tube.
9. To achieve measurement accuracy, it is recommended that the commonly used flow rate of the measured fluid should be at least 60% of the calibrated flow rate of the rotor flowmeter.
There is nothing complicated about mechanical meters. As most of the glass rotor flowmeter body is made of glass material, it must be handled with care during use and transportation to ensure that the flowmeter is placed vertically, connected to the inlet and outlet, and the flowmeter can work normally. Therefore, in industrial production, glass rotor flowmeter is a simple and convenient flow measurement instrument with low cost, good accuracy, and wide use.
