What are the classifications of chromatographic sample bottles?
Date: 2025-09-24Read: 0
Chromatographic sample bottleIt is a container used for storing and holding chromatographic analysis samples, and its quality and characteristics have a significant impact on the accuracy and reliability of the analysis results.

Chromatographic sample bottleClassification:

1. Classified by purpose:

Injection bottle: Used for automatic injection of chromatography instruments, it needs to be matched with the injection needle, bottle cap/pad to ensure sealing and repeat injection accuracy.

Storage bottle: Used for long-term storage of samples, it needs to have chemical corrosion resistance and low adsorption to avoid sample deterioration.

Inner tube bottle: Place an inner tube (such as a conical inner tube) inside the bottle to reduce sample residue and improve injection efficiency, suitable for micro sample analysis.

2. Classified by bottle mouth type:

Screw bottle: tightly connected to the bottle cap through threads, with good sealing performance, suitable for long-term storage or samples that require repeated opening of the cap.

Jaw bottle: It needs to be sealed with an aluminum cap and a capping device, with good sealing performance. However, after opening the cap, it needs to be re capped, which is suitable for one-time injection or high volatility samples.

Checkpoint bottle: The bottle cap is fixed by a buckle, which is easy to operate, but the sealing performance is slightly inferior to screw and clamp bottles.

3. Classified by color:

Transparent bottle: suitable for observing the state of samples under visible light, but not suitable for samples that need to be stored away from light.

Brown bottle: effectively blocks ultraviolet rays and protects photosensitive samples (such as certain drugs and vitamins) from degradation.

Storage conditions:

1. Avoid light storage: Sensitive samples should be wrapped in brown bottles or aluminum foil.

2. Low temperature storage: Degradable samples (such as proteins and enzymes) should be stored in a -20 ℃ or -80 ℃ freezer.

3. Sealing inspection: Ensure that the bottle cap is tightened or the aluminum cap is tightly pressed to prevent volatilization or contamination.
