Material and classification of glass injection bottles
Date: 2025-11-23Read: 0

Glass injection bottleIt is a container used in laboratories to store and hold samples for analysis, in order to accurately introduce the samples into analytical instruments such as liquid chromatographs, gas chromatographs, etc. Widely used in the fields of pharmaceuticals, environment, energy, forensic science, biopharmaceuticals, etc., suitable for instrument platforms such as HPLC and GC, used for storing and analyzing various liquid samples.

Material and Classification:

Borosilicate glass:

Features: Good chemical stability, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient, suitable for most analytical scenarios.

Type:

Transparent borosilicate glass: easy to observe the state of the sample and suitable for routine analysis.

Brown borosilicate glass: designed to avoid light and protect photosensitive samples (such as certain drugs and vitamins).

Other materials:

Polypropylene (PP): Lightweight and drop resistant, but with poor chemical stability, suitable for non-polar solvents or short-term storage.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE): It has strong corrosion resistance but high cost, and is usually used in special chemical environments.

Glass injection bottleThe specifications are usually distinguished by capacity (mL) and bottle mouth type:

Capacity:

Common specifications: 1.5mL, 2mL, 4mL, 10mL, etc., with 1.5mL and 2mL being the most commonly used.

Special requirements: Large capacity bottles (such as 10mL) are suitable for low concentration samples or reducing the number of injections.

Bottle mouth type:

Screw mouth: Good sealing, easy to operate, suitable for automated samplers.

Checkpoint: It needs to be used with an aluminum cover for better sealing, but the operation is more complicated.

Jaw: located between the screw and the bayonet, with good sealing and relatively simple operation.

Bottle bottom design:

Flat bottomed bottle: suitable for routine analysis.

Round bottom bottle: reduces sample residue, improves recovery rate, suitable for trace analysis.
