Don't panic when encountering problems with the planetary crusher! Let's take a look at what the following text says first!
Date: 2025-11-18Read: 0
  Planetary crusherIt is an efficient equipment that uses the principle of planetary motion to finely crush materials. Its core components include a crushing disc, a fixed disc, and planetary gears. During operation, the motor drives the spindle to drive the grinding disc to rotate at high speed, while the planetary gear revolves around the spindle, causing the grinding disc to move in a planetary motion on its orbital path. This composite motion causes the material to experience strong shear, impact, and friction between the cutting discs, thereby achieving fine crushing.
The planetary crusher has multiple functions such as crushing, mixing, and synthesis. It can not only finely grind traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine raw materials, chemical raw materials, food raw materials, etc. to meet the production needs of different fields, but also mix various materials evenly, and even achieve chemical reactions and synthesis of materials. For example, in the pharmaceutical industry, it is commonly used to crush traditional Chinese medicine into fine powder, which facilitates subsequent formulation production; In the field of chemical engineering, it can be used to crush chemical raw materials such as pigments and fillers; In the food industry, it is suitable for crushing food raw materials such as nuts and grains.
  Planetary crusherCommon problems and solutions:
1. Trip upon startup or unable to start
Possible reasons:
Unstable power supply voltage or phase loss;
Motor overload protection triggered;
Foreign objects stuck the rotor in the crushing chamber;
Damaged planetary gears or main shaft bearings result in excessive rotational resistance.
resolvent:
Check the power supply system to ensure three-phase electrical balance;
Clear the crushing chamber and manually rotate the disc to confirm there are no blockages;
Check the motor and control circuit, reset the thermal relay;
Replace damaged bearings or transmission components as necessary.
2. Low crushing efficiency and decreased output
Possible reasons:
Screen blockage or damage;
The blade/hammer is severely worn;
Excessive humidity or viscosity of the material can cause "ball wrapping" or wall sticking;
The feeding speed is too fast, causing overload operation;
Insufficient air volume (if there is an airflow assist system).
resolvent:
Clean or replace the screen mesh;
Regularly inspect and replace worn cutting tools;
Control the moisture content of the material (generally recommended ≤ 5%), and pre dry if necessary;
Adjust the feed rate to avoid overload;
Check if the fan or air duct is blocked and optimize the system air volume matching.
3. Uneven or excessively coarse particle size of the discharged material
Possible reasons:
The sieve aperture is too large or damaged;
Low spindle speed;
The clearance between the planetary gear and the stator is too large;
The materials are not sufficiently dispersed, resulting in agglomeration.
resolvent:
Replace the intact sieve with a suitable aperture;
Check the frequency converter or motor to ensure the rated speed;
Adjust or replace worn crushing components to restore the design clearance;
Improve the feeding method (such as adding vibration feeders) or add grinding aids.
4. The equipment operates with loud noise or abnormal vibration
Possible reasons:
Failure of rotor dynamic balance (such as hammer detachment, uneven material accumulation);
Bearing wear or poor lubrication;
Loose foundation bolts;
Poor meshing or insufficient lubrication of planetary gears.
resolvent:
Stop the machine to clean up the accumulated material and check if the hammer/blade is symmetrically installed;
Replace bearings and regularly add high-temperature lubricating grease;
Tighten the foundation and connecting bolts;
Check the oil level and quality of the gearbox, and repair the gear pair if necessary.
5. The temperature in the crushing room is too high or the material is burnt
Possible reasons:
Long term continuous high load operation;
The heat generated by material friction cannot be dissipated in a timely manner;
Cooling system failure (if there is a water or air cooling device);
The material itself is prone to heat sensitivity (such as plastics and some drugs).
resolvent:
Adopting intermittent operation mode to avoid continuous overheating;
Add cooling jacket or forced air cooling system;
Using low-temperature crushing technology (such as liquid nitrogen assistance) for thermosensitive materials;
Reduce the speed or decrease the single processing capacity.
6. Dust leakage or seal failure
Possible reasons:
The sealing ring is aging or damaged;
The door cover is not locked tightly or the quick opening mechanism is malfunctioning;
The negative pressure system is unbalanced, and the positive pressure causes dust to overflow.
resolvent:
Regularly replace fluororubber or silicone seals;
Check the door lock mechanism to ensure it is closed properly;
Optimize the dust removal system to maintain a slight negative pressure in the crushing chamber.
7. Frequent alarms in the motor or electronic control system
Possible reasons:
Large current fluctuations (due to uneven load);
Improper setting of frequency converter parameters;
False alarms from sensors (such as temperature and vibration);
Environmental dust enters the electrical control box.
resolvent:
Balanced feeding and stable load;
Re calibrate the start stop curve and torque limit of the frequency converter;
Clean or calibrate sensors;
Strengthen the protection level of the electrical control cabinet (above IP54).
