1、 Preparation before installation
Check the valve model specifications to ensure that the pressure rating (such as Class 150/300), diameter, and pipeline design are consistent and comply with API/ANSI standards.
Check the appearance of the valve for any damage, the valve disc opens and closes flexibly, the sealing surface is free of scratches and impurities, and the accessories (bolts, gaskets) are complete and matched with the material.
Clean the pipeline interface, remove oil stains, rust, and debris from the inner wall, and avoid blocking or damaging the sealing surface after installation.
2、 Flow direction and orientation installation
Strictly follow the "low in, high out" flow direction requirements, and the arrow markings on the valve body must be consistent with the direction of medium flow. Reverse installation is prohibited.
Priority should be given to installing vertically upwards (with the handwheel facing upwards) for ease of operation and maintenance; When special working conditions require horizontal installation, it is necessary to ensure that the vertical or inclined angle of the valve stem does not affect opening and closing.
When connecting valves and pipelines, sufficient operating space should be reserved to avoid interference between handwheels, driving devices, and other equipment.
3、 Connection and sealing specifications
Flange connection type: The flange surface needs to be clean and flat, and the gasket selection should be compatible with the medium (such as metal wrapped gasket for high temperature and PTFE gasket for corrosive medium). The bolts should be symmetrically and evenly tightened to avoid flange deformation and leakage.
Threaded connection type: Apply a suitable sealant (such as PTFE tape) on the thread, manually tighten it, and then use tools to reinforce it moderately to prevent excessive force from damaging the thread.
Welding connection type: Remove the vulnerable parts inside the valve before welding, avoid damaging the sealing surface of the valve seat due to excessive welding temperature, clean the welding slag and check the sealing performance after welding.
4、 Post installation inspection
Slowly open the valve and conduct a pressure test (at 1.5 times the working pressure). After holding the pressure for a period of time, check that there is no leakage in the valve body and connections.
Test the flexibility of valve disc opening and closing to ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise, and the regulating function is normal.
Make installation records, label valve models, installation locations, pressure test results, and other information for easy maintenance and traceability in the future.
